I had two Restylane injections about two months ago for depressed scars. I was very swollen afterwards and my cheek continues to swell on occassion which is definately noticeable. Also I had a very small scar which was slightlty indented underneath the depressed scar that I had filled with restylane and now this scar is stretched and a lot larger in lenghth than it was before. Restylane only brings the scar closer to the surface and in my case can make any minor scars that are by the injection site even more noticeable than they previously were. As for the other scar that I had filled with Restylane which is deeper than the scar on my cheek I have a lump right above the scar which I didn't expect because I was not aware that the Resylane would migrate to another area besides where it was injected. I had my injection done by a Dermatological Surgeon cost:$300.00

I had restylane and it only lasted 4 days so I am pretty disappointed. As I read through these ratings and it seems it is a 50/50 chance for it to work. I placed a call to my doctor and we shall see if he gives me another free shot. Looked great for the four days though!!!!

FAT TRANSFER, VERY EFFECTIVE, NO DOWN TIME, AFFORDABLE!! I am a male in my 40's with several cystic scars and have tried many treatments over the years including micro and macro-dermabrasions, peels etc.. with little improvement. I finally went to a well known Plastic Surgeon who did 2 fat transfers about 8 months apart. Great results!! Basically, your own fat is used to "plump" up a depressed scar. Since some of the fat is re-absorbed over time, the doctor "over fills" the scar. The injected site is slightly red and puffy but you can return to normal activities when you walk out the door. The only negative side effect was the transfer site (usually from around your belly-button area) was a little sore, bruised for about one week. Took some asprin. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this procedure from an experienced plastic surgeon. Now some two years later, my treated area is still 75% improved and would do over again in a heartbeat. Hope this info helps. PS Cost was about $1800 total.

I had Restylane injections in the "crows feet" around my eyes. I HATE how it looks. Would rather have the fine lines, than the bags, I now have. I will never have anything injected into my face again. I can't wait for it to disolve!

I have some various saucer-shaped scars and I went to see a very prominent plastic surgeon/dermatologist in La Jolla who actually will do Silikon1000 injections. He has an injection technique where it does not migrate or clump. I've gone to him about 5 times and the results are excellent - and permanent. about 450 per treatment. Some of the scars are 90% improved. Anybody else gone to anyone really good in SoCal?

Tried restylane expensive 500-800 per treatnent. Improved the many scars I have. Worth every penny needed the improvement. Works good for scars. Unfortunely the results have diminished alot in only 3 months, going back for more next week. Thinking of trying semi permanant fillers. If concerned with facial scars from acne, injury ect. i highly reccomend

Listen people, I have tried all the non- surgical, and topical creams / pills out there. And yesterday I got two restalyne injections on my chin, for deep depressed acne scaring. The Results where immediate, a little red and angry of course but that diminished by morning and should be gone at the end of the week. I have spent so so much time on this wicked web site, looking for solutions, seeing peoples overall feelings. And no matter what anyone else says, IT WORKS! My doctor was so so nice and explained everything in detail, I even get to go back in 2 weeks for a FREE touch up. If you ask me 300 dollars (can) is so little to pay for your slef esteme back.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with the results,
I hope you can find the right thing that fits you and makes you feel better about yourself. I also use " la mer" concentrate on my skin after I wash with Glytone acne kit. The concentrate coasts about 500, but it should last forever, and works wonders in conjunction with the restalyne.

I visited external affaires in St. Albert, AB and saw Doctor. Richard Hatfield, he's honest, comforting and a wonderful doctor that gave wonderful results.
GOOD LUCK

This may not be the best thing for correcting severe acne scars. This is not a natural solution and your skin will definitely not be fixed by injecting stuff into it. I had this done and there was only a very slight improvement, if any from the injection. However, if you have a depressed scar moving it to the surface with collagen will allow topical retinoids to access it better and help fade the scar and help fade color changes in your skin better than if the scar is below the level of the rest of your skin. BUT, it took 9 months or more for the scar to fade just a little. This isn't a quick fix and I suggest that with how expensive this is you find another more natural way to treat the scar such as maybe subcision or chemical peeling, which can't eliminate the scar but may help fade it.

I had Perlane treatment five days ago for significant rolling scars on my cheeks that were resistant to a previous laser attempt. I found this to be quite a painful treatment and I did have some initial bad reactions - in particular, swelling and bruising on one cheek that made it hard for the doctor to be able to see what he was doing as he continued the procedure. For several days afterwards a small raised bump occurred at each injection site which thankfully did not last. The results are quite good however, especially on the cheek where the bruising/swelling did not occur. I may consider having the worse cheek treated again. I would say I have a 50-60% improvement overall. I would also note that this procedure does not improve any redness/discolouration that might be present as part of the scarring. I will be considering a permanent filler (Aquamid) as I'm pretty happy with this method.
