Pros:Worked well for acne scars, and wearable under makeup. Didn't make my face oily like clindamycin. Definitely noticeable decrease in breakouts.
Cons:Does dryout skin a bit and definitely does make the sensitive areas of my face itch like crazy, but the results are worth it.
Bottom Line:I have dual prescription coverage so I try a lot of different remedies for my acne, I really liked the azelex because it helped my oil control as well as the acne and acne scars. it may be expensive if you don't have good insurance but I think it's worth it.

Pros:Keeps my chest clear and bacne under control.
Cons:My face is very sensitive so it made my face itch like crazy!!! It was so irritating that I had to wash it off immediately. My back acne isn't clear but is much better than before, and I haven't had a break out on my chest in more than a year.
Bottom Line:My face was too sensitive for it, but it's effective for my chest and back.

Pros:Calmed bad case of keratosis pilaris on arms immediately. Soothes inflammation, fades dark spots.
Cons:RX only - why does anyone need prescription for this? I have had no side effects in 2 months use.
Bottom Line:excellent results
cost of 3 large tubes (3 months supply) with insurance is $45

Pros:Works WONDERFULLY at reducing acne; no side effects for me; started working in two weeks; reduces redness and inflammation
Cons:Pimples already there have to clear up on their own (finacea won't help)
Bottom Line:I love Finacea. I am sensitive to antibiotics and my derm wanted to try this before we went to a topical antibiotic. 12 weeks later, she was very pleased with the condition of my skin and said I didn't need a topical antibiotic. I still break out, but nowhere near what I was (and the pimples are not severe like before). My skin is much smoother and calmer. Also, I've had basically no side effects. I use it with Retin-A and have been pleased. My dermatologist thinks it will keep getting better now.

Pros:It quickly reduced pimples.
my dermatologist gave me like 12 mini boxes for free....
Cons:And then it made my face red, inflamed, burning and look like sh*t for a week solid.
Bottom Line:If this does work well, I have yet to see it do so.

Acid Bath anyone?

My background is 3/4 Sicillian and 1/4 Finnish. My skin is incredibly thick, smooth and strong. Nothing ever irritates it.

this did. I am going to let it do its thing though as it did stop the pimples in 24 hours. Now it just looks really really raw.

Pros:great at fading dark spots
great at controlling oil
Cons:none!!!!!!! (i wouldnt dare complain about the price- i paid 100.00 bucks for it but its worth it).
Bottom Line:i use finacea and it is amazing. i have the most hypersensitive skin in the world and ive searched for years for something that actually fades hyperpigmentation and does so without irritating my skin. my prayers were finally answered when i started using finacea. my spots are not completely gone but they have faded a lot and my skin tone is more even and radiant. it works really fast. i personally dont have the itching or burning that others have complained about. i love this product!! i will be using this for a long, long time. even if its just for maintenance reasons.

Pros:Clears blackheads, smaller comedones, and cysts. Starts working immediately. One of the few products my skin isn't allergic to. Works on hormonal acne too!
Cons:Stings a bit if your skin is still wet when you apply it. Steep price if you don't have insurance, but if you can come up with the money, and have stubborn acne like myself, it's totally worth it.
Bottom Line:The best topical I've ever used. This in combination with Rosula, for my body acne, equals the closest thing to a normal complexion I've had since I was on Accutane. (I also highly recommend allergy tests for acne sufferers. I found I am allergic to dairy, since I've given it up I've noticed a huge difference.)

Pros:gives you the feel of smooth skin, have yet to see the cons the azelaic acid supposedly gives to some people.
Cons:mild burning irritation when applying to face.
Bottom Line:Azelex was prescribed to me only a week ago because i have acne as well as keratosis pilaris. it looks and feels like a Retina-A type product, but has different results. Withint this short period of time that ive used I IMMEDIATELY felt my skin SO much smoother than i have ever felt it since i can remember. I naturally have sensitive skin that can dry real easy, but havent experienced any sort of those problems with this product. Its cliche, but i have tried every acne product out there from proactive, to retina-A, to IPL, to accutane and have never experienced any significant recovery (accutane stoped my breakouts though), but i have never had anything that made me feel so optimistic or have given me immiediate results like this after merely a few days.
