| Pros: | it helped clear me up in about 3 months |
| Cons: | does dry the face but use a moisturizer for that a bit of dryness is the least |
| Bottom Line: | i started suffering with acne 2 years ago i would get the odd pimple on my forehead then it spread to my cheeks so i went to my doctor and he prescribed duac once daily gel for me i started using it for a week but didnt see any changes so went back to my gp and he told me to have patients u need to give it time to work so hear i am 3 months later with a totally clear face it really does wonders belive me. |

| Pros: | i cant think of any so far |
| Cons: | it is drying and expensive and has made acne worse |
| Bottom Line: | ive been using duac for 6 weeks and expected to see some difference, but its only getting worse. i went to the derm again last week and she called it a fluke that my face looked like this. she says give it more time, but 6 weeks is a long time. i also just switched to yaz birhtcontrol because she said that will help too. but ive taken 4 different antibiotics for acne and i just dont see how a different bc will help. she just needs to put me on accutane already. |

| Pros: | doesn't dry my skin, easy to apply (absorbs quickly, goes on smoothly) |
| Cons: | without insurance, expensive. one tube lasts me more than one year, though, and i apply a fairly liberal amount. ignore the "two month" exp. date because the tube itself has a two year exp. date! |
| Bottom Line: | cleared my deeper, longer lasting acne in about 3 months. seems to keep new breakouts under control, but it doesn't help with pimples caused by hormones or sleep deprivation. |

| Pros: | Clears up acne fast. |
| Cons: | Burns burns burns! Especially when in combination with Differin. |
| Bottom Line: | I had actually used this before, with E-mycin, for a few weeks at night. Results were immediate and burning was minimal. Then, a month ago, my dermatologist gave it back to me - this time, Duac in the morning, and Differin at night (E-mycin).
This time it BURNED! Differin was fine, but caused my skin to be sensitive to the Duac.
For this first week I was in near agony. After applyng the Duac, i'd lie on my bed moaning (no joke) waiting for the discomfort to subside. That said, I was determined to see it through.
Now I'm glad I did. By the second week, the peeling (which was fairly intense) had subsided entirely. By Week 3, my skin was soft and very clear. Now, in my 4th week, I have no acne except for severe red marks on my right cheek. What I've noticed is that Duac worsens scarring. As a result, I've stopped using it over my entire face. Now I use tea tree oil wash over my entire face, before Jojoba oil, then duac on the spots. Now my red marks are fadin |

| Pros: | easy to apply, unfragranced, can work! try it - seriously. |
| Cons: | bleaches stuff - ruined a couple of t shirts! and countless pillow cases, use white ones! can burn ur skin a bit. |
| Bottom Line: | I used to use benzamycin until the fools stopped supplying it in the UK. i had moderate back acne and mild face acne. that stuff removed it all within 2 weeks, a miracle. since it was withdrawn in 2007 iv had to use DUAC. for a while it gave the same results, well right up until now tbh. over the last few months its grown less effective. the benzamycin completely got rid of my back acne but iv been keeping mild face acne at bay for over a year with this, tho its started to creep in on my forehead, chin and cheeks over the last 4 months, which is very frustrating. trying to import some benzamycin as i type! |

| Pros: | Ihave been using it for 31/2 weeks now and I started to see a result. |
| Cons: | The first week it was very difficult to touch my face as it got very irritated from using this product it also dries your skin. |
| Bottom Line: | I never had acne prior to a 2 months ago. I started breaking out around my lips after undergoing lasic hair removal and it spread from there causing sever painful cyst all over my face and neck. I use Duac in the morning along with Tazorac at night and Minocyline twice a day. I have seen a drast reduction in the pimples even though I am now left with dark scaring on both cheeks. The pimples have not completely gone away but I am optomistic that it will. from what I have read it takes 4-6 weeks to see a result. Crossing my fingers. Don't know how people have had acne for years and dealt with it. |
