Tell a friend
A bunch of you asked for this page. Let me know if you have suggestions on how to improve it.
A few people have asked me to start a “tell a friend” page so they could email their friends and let them know about Acne.org. I set this up, but when I sent a sample email to myself it felt embarrassing to get an automated “tell a friend” email from an acne web site. So, instead of making a form that you can fill out, here are a few suggestions on how you can tactfully tell a friend about Acne.org:
- Write your friend a personal email in your own words letting them know about Acne.org, being as kind and thoughtful as you can and without making them feel singled out. Perhaps this sort of email would be best sent to a friend who has complained to you about his or her skin. In my opinion, an unsolicited email from a friend talking about how I look would be mortifying.
- Write a few friends at one time so no one person feels targeted, including a friend or two who do not have acne.
- Wait for your friend to mention his/her skin problems in person. This is a perfect opportunity to tell them about Acne.org in person. If you can’t get your friend to talk about their skin, try talking about your own skin issues you have encountered to open the door to that type of conversation.
