My girlfriend and I have been buying the Acne.org products for multiple years and were always very pleased, especially with the licochalcone moisturizer. 1 Week ago we received our new order of moisturizer (we ordered 2 of the big ones). When using it, we both noticed that the color was not as yellow as it normally is. It is way lighter - which makes it a very pale yellow color. Using it made both our faces burn and turn super red (like sunburn) for about half an hour. It was super uncomfortable! We tried it again in the evening and the next day, leaving out the medicine part of the regimen and just using the moisturizer. It burns so bad and makes us look like lobsters. We shook the container, hoping that maybe the content just was not mixe properly, but the color did not change. Checking the second moisturizer, it looks like the same color.
My questions: Has the formula of the Acne.org moisturizer changed? Is this a one-off? Maybe some medicine got mixed in during filling the containers? Has it less licochalcone now (which makes it therefore less yellow)? Please help, we used to love the moisturizer until 1 week ago!
I had something a little similar happen, but it was with the AHA lotion. I've used it for years and it is the ONLY moisturizer that I can use without getting acne, unfortunately I can't even use the normal acne.org moisturizer. I ordered a new bottle of the AHA and it wasn't the right color, odor, nor texture. It was as if ithad the usual acne.org moisturizer in it, which I can't use. I returned the new bottle paying the shipping myself, and got a second bottle, which still isn't like the original AHA lotion, even though the ingredient list is the same. The customer service person wasn't helpful, and just seemed angry at me when I asked if the formula had changed.I don't know what to do now, now I have no moisturizer I can use! If they change the formula or there is a problem in production I wish they would just tell us, so we could know if we can repurchase in the future.
Hey you guys. I started using a more concentrated licochalcone, which is more expensive, but allows the moisturizer and AHA to be less yellow. It's still in there at the full 0.1% though.
As far as other changes, there is natural variation from batch to batch, and the viscosity can change depending on the weather (hot or cold) where you are.
The same thing happened to me, I have been using the products for probably 10 years (great results and no issues) and this new batch I got this past month has made my face burn and look sunburnt. It also made the area around my eyes itchy and swollen. Is there a way we can order the old mixture of of moisturizer? I now also have 2 large bottles of moisturizer I cant use.
I'm not experiencing any problems with the new formula. The texture is much better and doesn't make me yellow. Sometimes if I use too much I feel a little burn but that happened to me with the old formula as well.
I'd like to see a non-licochalcone version that doesn't stain my clothes.
Spent a ton of money on moisturizer because Ive been using it for years and its been my favourite product - not knowing its been changed and how badly its been affecting others I, of course, had to find out the hard way. Now I have this new thick white moisturizer that I could have gotten from the drug store for a few dollars that doesnt absorb properly, leaves my skin looking super pale as opposed to a glow that the yellow moisturizer would leave - back to breakouts after years of nothing so disappointed. Im with you guys. I imagine a lot of threads on this topic are being deleted because I see the amount of bad reviews on it.. just need to put this out there, Im at a complete loss ..
I have been using your regimen since 2008,I just want to let you know that recently I notice that you changed the moisturiser formula, the quality has been fluctuating from time to time, I would like you to seriously look into your manufacturing process see if theres any problems happened during the process, you can check the batch no.21I26A The quality of this batch is perfect, (runny texture, white colour, pleasant smell, very similar to the very original formula back in 2008), but the most recently batch no. 2111 and 2312 are awful , the texture is significantly thick so it cant sink in to skin after apply, the smell is sour, the most annoying part is it hurt my skin making it look red, I can tell that the ratio of the ingredients is definitely different. As a long term customer, I really hope that you can maintain the quality of all products all the time, please do look into this matterthanks
I swear to o god, it does burn my face! The thick formula is no good! Pls dont change it again again and again please I rather use the yellow color one
I had the same issue with my recent order. The moisturizer is runny and very pale in color (as compared to yellow). Also, the BP is runny making it hard to apply.
I have been using three products for more than 10 years now without any problem. However, I was surprised to see there is no customer care number where you could reach out with your concerns. So, I emailed them and received a pretty rude reply saying nothing has been changed!
Love the products but disappointed with their customer service.
I dont understand why they cant just keep the old formula(yellow one) in stock, so we can choose to buy instead of switch to a NEW one without noticing everybody, cant they just keep both options? Pls bring back the yellow one pls, people might like the new formula, thats fine, just produce both, so we could choose! Dan pls listen to our voice, or you will lose $ since people will stop buying the moisturiser! Im a 15 years user of your product, this moisturiser is too thick to absorb, takes 1/2 hour for 2 pumps to sink in, but end up not moisturised enough, then another 1/2 hour for another 2 pumps, I end up spending 1 hours for this new moisturiser! And it is GHOSTING! Making my face look WHITE!OMG!
I'm sorry to hear about your recent experience with the Acne.org moisturizer. It sounds like you've been long-time users of the product and are now facing some unexpected issues. While I don't have specific information about recent formula changes, it's possible that there might have been a variation in the product.
To address your concerns, I recommend reaching out directly to Acne.org's customer support or checking their official website for any updates or announcements regarding changes in the formula. They should be able to provide you with more detailed information and guidance on how to proceed.
