Hey there, this is my first post, because I've kept my acne at bay for many years with Neutrogena's Stress Control 3-in-1....until that got discontinued just recently (which is a CONSPIRACY, but that's for another post....).
I'm 27 and still get acne, so I when the Neutrogena ran out, I had to start trying some other things, with limited success. I went to Ulta the other day, and they were advertising a product that was apparently popular with the store's employees, Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.
It's $17, and it's basically a combination of salicylic acid and calamine lotion, that pink stuff you put on your skin when you get chigger bites. The pink calamine lotion collects on the bottom, and you're not supposed to shake it up. You take a cotton swab, grab some of the lotion from the bottom of the bottle, and put it right on any acne you have. Then you leave it overnight.
I've been using it a few days, and the acne on my face is practically gone. I also get some chest acne (not TMI I hope), and that's very nearly gone. This stuff works!
The only drawback is the pink calamine lotion is VERY noticeable. I'm pretty pale, and it stands out a ton. If you're dark-skinned, it's going to look even sillier. So yeah, your housemates are going to have to get used to it.
Good luck to the rest of you guys with your regimens!
