I dedicate this update to my best bud Bob12
Well my friends things are quite excellent here, i dont have any active acne on my face, my chest is well on its way to calming down.
School is boring, I hardly feel challenged at all. Its like highschool all over again except now im the only one who doesnt drink I really just want to get to UT.
I can't play basketball as often as i want to because my knees simply cant take consecutive days.
I dont remember if i mentioned that cute girl from astronomy here, but she totally flirts with me every day. If i hadn't made that no dating this year vow i would totally ask her out for coffee.
I applied for that MTV True Life: Acne post that came up yesterday. We'll see if that turns out to be real, The email i sent is one of the last posts that got in before the topic was locked if you want to check it out
Please feel free to ask questions here if you want to know anything specific. I want this place to be a conversational blog not just me talking at yall.
*Song of the Week* (its a bit big bc its an uncompressed wav. I suggest importing it into itunes if you have it and converting it to aac or mp3)
Finally dethroning might Beirut after what a month or two lol.
You might know of this guy from the song over the credits of Donnie Darko (Mad World)which is how i found out about him, but this song is completely original (the other was a tears for fears cover) and i mark it akin to "Trapeze Swinger" by Iron and Wine.
Hey man I have been reading your log forever and I love following your journey. I like many others find complete inspiration from your log so keep it up. I just wanted to suggest that you should really try and make a move on that girl. In my opinion there is no better cure to acne than love. Really helps those bad days seem like nothing. Keep up the good work!
You are going to make an update? Awesome.I've been on 'tane for 5 days now, no (severe) side effects so far!
I have a blog if you don't mind taking a look.
I really think ur awesome! Im so blessed to see that you have so much faith. I too have fairth and know God brings us through all situations. Your skin look soooooooo much better!.
Keep Pressing on 😉
for my photos that i post here i use my dads original digital camera back when they cost like $800 something dollars for a decent one. Its Olympus something or other really bulky but has a sick zoom on it. I dont post pictures that often bc its at my parents house in austin. I usually take them when i go down there for my derm appointments every month. That would mean the next pictures would be around the 10th, unless i go down before then for some reason.
Heyreaders i decided to PM the guy who post the MTV True Life Thread and this is the response i got. Whatcha think it seems legite to me but im kinda bias cause i really really want it to be real. I need some fresh eyes yall see anything suspicious besides that it a gmail account?
PS: do a google search for MTV true life acne and look at the fifth result lol
Hi RC!
I appreciate your interest in our documentary project! You seem to have a very interesting perspective and great insight into what the struggle with acne can be like. I strongly urge you to send in your story (including what your short-term goals and struggles involve) to our [email protected] email as soon as you can. Or, you can also contact me back on acne.org with your contact info, and our producers would love to give you a call to talk with you more in detail.
I understand the concerns of the community on acne.org, and if it were possible, I would have loved to have communicated more with everyone about their individual stories in a more intimate way. However, due to the size of our casting effort, unfortunately, just getting the information across to as many people as possible is the only way we can efficiently reach as many people across the US as we do.
This is a very sensitive subject, and with that in mind, we are truly taking every step we can to assure all participants in the documentary of the honesty in which they will be portrayed. Our production company, Punched in the Head (www.punchedinthehead.com), is especially experienced with handling sensitive subjects over the past years due to the ways in which our producers work with the participants to tell their own stories.
Again, I'm really excited about your interest with the project and can't stress enough how much our producers would like to talk to you further. Please get back to me with your contact info and we'll take it from there!
Thanks!
Hagan

Another Email from the True Life guy
I asked him about the email thing, and gave him contact info
Hey RC,
Thanks for getting back to me! I will make sure a producer gets back to you today. When is a good time to call? Also, I never caught your name...wasn't sure if we should just ask for RCRanger?
And, in regards to the other post with the "@mtvn" email, MTV does their own casting process for the documentary before they hand it off to a production company just to make sure that the subject for the show actually has enough potential people to participate. If they do not get a good response from their own casting effort, they do not continue with the show. And, since our production company doesn't exactly have the most legit sounding name, "punched in the head," we don't always feel people will respond well to a "acne@punchedinthehead" domain for instance. So, we always create a gmail account.
Anyway, thanks again RC, and we look forward to talking with you later today!
Hagan
I'll be talking to them after my next class! We'll see how it goes. I'm thinking though that unless they are having trouble casting they wont pick me just bc mine is not especially active anymore. Heres to hoping.
Sounds good Matt,
One of our producers should be calling you tomorrow (Friday 2/29) around 5pm central time. Let me know if anything changes between now and then and we'll do it on Saturday.
Thanks!

EDIT: Hey just got interviewed by a producer over the phone!

Suh-weet!
By the way I added photos to my blog, I think it's down by the bottom of the first page of posts.
I just want to let you know that reading your log has been a very theraputic experience for me. (Haha, "theraputic" is a funny word.) I laughed so hard reading it. I haven't truely laughed in a long time. Thank you.
Anyways, your positive attitude is contagious and the fact that you're so strong in your faith is very encouraging.
I'm starting tane in about 20 days. Any advice?
In my opinoin, you embody this verse:
"Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant." Galatians 1:10
Oh, and here's just another little tid bit from zee Living Word:
"And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are."
Romans 8:17
Keep looking forward. Look to Him.
