I am a 17 year old male with oily skin with moderate acne. I've had acne since I was 12 years old.Initiallyit was mild, later turning worse in Grade 10 and onwards. It's been on and off, clearing up then getting bad then clearing up then getting bad.
So I've used Clindoxyl a while back and it initially made me breakout like crazy but it cleared up after a while quite nicely. Although it got rid of most of my acne, it always gave me one giant pimple here and there although all the small pimples went away. After a couple of months, I switched to Tactupump, which initially worked really well, although it caused a lot of redness and dryness. I'm still currently on it, but it does not seemtobe working anymore as I have broke out quite badly on my forehead and on the right side of my face. Also,it gave me this one red mark that does not seem to go away no matter what. Frustrated, I went online and decided to search for a new solution.
After looking at many prescription medications, including Accutane and others, I stumbled upon Sodium Sulfacetamide. It had the highest rating out of the other medicines, having a 4.2/5, It's apparently cheap, works well, and not irritating. A lot of the reviews were positive, and having previous experience with sulfur in non prescription products, I know that it works quite well.
Should I give it a try? I'm very frustrated and need a solution quickly. If not, what other prescription medications would you recommend? I'm hopefully looking for one that isn't too irritating, helps with scars and of course, stops and also prevents acne.
Thanks a bunch!
I was prescribed on the sulfur cleanser in 2014 and my acne cleared up nice along withclindamycin phosphate topical gel and cetaphil moisturizer. Unfortunately I'm breaking out now because I haven't use the cleanser which I recently back on. I'd say it's a great cleanser
