I'm looking for some makeup reccomendations since that is not my expertise. I have a great skincare regimen, but I have a hard time finding makeup that suits my skin type. I have dehydrated acne prone skin, so I'm looking for something that won't clog my pores (I always get comedones using foundation) and I don't want anything with active ingredients in it (ex- salicylic acid). I have very fair skin and I have hyperpigmentation from old acne scars. I prefer foundations that are liquid or pressed powders. Also, I like something that has a decent amount of coverage without looking "cakey." So do any ladies (or guys) know any good products that fit what I'm looking for? Also, any recommendations for concealers, primers, and any other fun noncomedogenic products would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
I also have dry patches, so when I use foundation I try to moisturize with a hydrating mist. L'Oreal true match in liquid form is one of my favorites. It does not give full coverage, but the shade range is great. The coverage is medium at best. I usually set it with a powder and setting spray for longevity, since I have really oily skin. Nyx has a very affordable mineral loose powder that I enjoy using. They also carry a nice stay matte, but not flat product if you prefer a powder in pressed form. Good luck
I've been using products from the Bare Minerals line for a number of years now. So far it's been the best for not clogging my pores. Upon the advice of other people on acne.org, I use the original foundation because others have said the matte foundation seemed to irritate those with sensitive skin. It also doesn't give full coverage, but I also use their concealer. Still not the best, but after years of using this product I don't have so much acne anymore anyway and my scars are slowly fading. Keep in mind, I also take care not to eat things that aggravate my cystic acne (chips and peanuts), and I found that washing my face with coconut oil does wonders for my skin.
Before this, I used liquid foundations and CoverGirl Mousse foundation. I loved the CoverGirl Mousse. It had the most coverage, and I don't think it clogged my pores as much. But since switching to BareMinerals, I never went back.
I used to have drypatches, not any more
I use salilic acid cleanser every other day
and non acid in between
i also don't use any toners and apply acne treatment every other day
i also apply moisturizer over acne treatment
also take inside vitamin E and 1-2tablespoon flaxseed oil daily
keep acne cleansers and treatments out of restroom, they become more harsh and stop working theway they suppose to work
