Scarred From Glycolic

Hey all

Something pretty bad has happened to me. I had professional glycolic peel done at 30% in licencsed skin clinic over here in uk but my skin appears to have been scarred by it. I didn't experience any burning or swelling/scabbing. I've had quite a few done in the past and struggle to know what went wrong.

I have developed two lines on my top left lip and this uneven looking skin.

Can anyone offer my advice on how i can fix this?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience... but if you had no negative side effects to the peel I am having a hard time trying to think of a reason for the scarring. How long ago did you have your peel? Were there any scabs or marks in these areas at all after your peel? Also, have you spoken to the clinic about it?

It was a few months ago. I had no scabs or marks just a bit of redness after but nothing intense. I'm going back to the clinic in a week to talk to them. Last time i went back the Derm said it was aging but it clearly isn't. It's harder to see in real life i had to take the photos in strong lighting so i'll take my evidence along to see what can be done. I'm worried i've been scarred for life now. It doesn't seem to make sense really.

I hope the clinic can shed some light on this for you. If it turns out that it is scarring then I wouldn't despair just yet. It's there, yes, but it's mild and can be treated. Sucks to have to do that considering your peel was to improve your skin but there is light at the end of the tunnel regardless. Keep us posted, I want to hear what your clinic has to say about it!
