Is anyone familiar with the Sellas fractional laser? 1550 I believe. I Plan on having 5 treatments and heard it was similar to fraxel restore. If anyone has any info or has used the laser I would appreciate some insight.

Nowon in seoul korea. I was told its a combination of sellas laser and erbium yag laser

1550 laser # for sellas and 2940 for the yag. They also do subcision cross excision but those rsults are supposed to be by laser. I have similar scarring to both pictures albeit slightly less deep and was told it would be 5 laser treatments spaced 6 weeks apart.

I went to rodam in gangnam after reading jaces post and had a test spot done. It didn't seem really effective after the swelling went away. It was also pretty pricey for just "subcision". The test spot I had done wasn't a super deep scar id say moderate- maybe moderate severe. similar to the top right boxcar in the first before set up top but not as big or as deep

so wait, what exactly did they do on ur arm? i doubt they did the ecxact same procedure as they would on the face, is gangnam a major city in as south korea? how far is it from the capitol? i have moderate to severe ice pick and box scars on both my cheeks. do you think its worth a shot to travel there in my case?

Arm? It was a test spot done on my cheecks on a moderate severe boxcar. Gangnam is a major area in seoul, the biggest place for cosmetic surgery in Korea. Nowon and sinchon are also knwon for their dermatologists. I can't give you a recommendation to come out here just yet but I will be getting scar treatment at the place I posted about in Nowon so if things go well ill let you know. I have moderate to moderate severe boxcars and lightly moderate icepicks. I won't dissapear on you:). But I am still curious about the sellas and yag lasers. The results I posted seem excellent. Any comments or insights would be appreciated from anyone.

Also the place I plan on going to in Nowon is right next to Lotte Department Nowon store and has been for 6+ years. Dermatology in Nowon is cutthroat business so it tells you something about the place. Also the doctors speak some english probably enough to cknverse accurately, I speak korean so I didn't use too much english. Hopefully things go well it'll take 5+ months.

99% chance you won't get results even close to the ones in the pictures, sorry to say. Scars can be improved, they can never be eradicated. The 1550 wavelength means its an erbium glass laser (like the fraxel restore). I don't think there's a huge difference between the different brands of erbium lasers.

Erbium/Yag etc type lasers won't do much for acne scarring in general. If you want true improvement you need multiple sessions of aggressive fractional CO2 laser - but since I assume you have an asian skin tone, you need to find a doctor that specializes in that and consult with him as there are risks involved. If you're unwilling to take on the risks involved - then erbium would probably be the best option.

Results from lasers in general aren't predictable - some people get no improvement, some get 30% improvement, some get 60%, but in general co2 lasers are more risk more reward.

oopps i think i read wrong lol. the thing is rodams before and after r the best i have ever seen on the net. they claim to get rid of any scars maybe for box scars it takes more treatments. i went on accutane in the past so i really dont wanna do laser plus no matter what laser cannot get to the dermis for deep ice picks and box scars in return just messing up ur skin with out getting to the root. i dont have faith in western technology for skin care its all lasers and peels complete b,s!. i have a strong feeling eastern methods are the real deal unlike the western methods.

im hispanic also so fraxel restore or repair wouldnt be a good idea i had a consult with a cosmetic surgeon and he said he doesnt wanna touch my face with fraxel. people need to be really aware of the damage laser can do to your skin in the long run. when the did the test spot did they fully do the cora therapy technique on ur box scar? i understand its similiar to subcision but different in the end

even co2 lasers wont do anything for box scars n ice pick scars. i think its more affective for rolling scars .

Lasers won't eradicate scars and the effect is temporary. Plus its quite harsh on the skin in the long run.

Temporary? How so? And the pictures seem to tell otherwise

sometimes improvement can be confused with micro swelling. its very hard to pinpoint improvement sometimes.

All medical studies show average laser improvement after 6 months to be 30-40%+ if doing 2-3 sessions of aggressive fractional co2. Yes there are risks - just like there are risks with anything. If you think that's no improvement or you think medical studies are BS.....then continue rubbing egg yolk on your face and good luck. If you know of a better method that you can actually back up with studies - feel free to let us know.
