This post is mostly directed towards males but I'm sure females could take a lot out of it as well.
So you got bit by the bug. Most people suffer from acne at some point in their life but there are always the unlucky souls who don't make it out unscathed. Every town, school, or small community has one (or a few).....The scarred man. At first it can be a brutal hit to yourself esteem and lead to bouts of depression for the afflicted. What you have yet to realize it that acne scarring can actually be a blessing in disguise.
The scarred man is an important role to play in any society ESPECIALLY in our modern day society which focuses so strongly on superficially looks. If you play your cards right you can be a refreshing break from your looks obsessed peers and set a wonderful example for others around you.
Now you've probably done what most people with acne scarring do and have looked into all the different options for trying to rid yourself of these scars, lasers, needling, peels, subscision, etc. After realizing the cost, risks, and difficulty in achieving results with these methods it is time to try something new. By all means if one of the previous mentioned techniques works for you then continue but there is a much better way to deal with these nasty scars. The trick is to hide them from people.
After excepting that these scars may stick with you forever you stare into the mirror pondering your next move. Suddenly a light bulb flashes on in your mind. You are the best character in any movie, book, play, or story in general....You are the underdog. The kid who was afflicted by a disease, forced to suffer, and now left as somewhat of an outcast in this vain society. God, the devil, or who ever has dealt you a crappy hand and taken your good looks from you but you can't let this defeat you. Dealing with acne scars is about persevering through adversity and perseverance is a trait that all humans posses.
Now remember what I said about hiding acne scars? Distracting may be a better word. Almost everyone has seen the movie The Matrix. When you watched Laurence Fishburne play the character Morpheus did you notice his acne scars? (which are quite severe) Probably not because you were too busy watching him doing kung fu, jumping off of buildings, or fighting agents. Your face plays only a small roll in making you attractive and the skin on your face an even smaller roll. What you need to do if you get acne scars is to compensate for them by upping your game in every aspect of your life and I guarantee people will hardly notice them.
Step 1 - Your body. Anyone who has acne scarring should have an amazing body. It will boost your self-esteem ten fold and is an amazing way to distract people from your face. The scarred man is always a little more motivated than his peers and hits the gym with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
Step 2 - Your personality. Talk to people all the time every day. Be as nice as possible to people. The best way to enhance your charisma is constant practice. One of the best careers for the scarred man is stand up comedy (Bill Murray anyone?). Try writing some jokes and going to a few open mic nights.
Step 3 - Your career. Acne scarring can happen to anyone and not all of us are as talented as Laurence Fishburne or BIll Murray. That does not mean that you cannot become SKILLED. Skill comes from hours and hours of beating on your craft. Acne scarring will not prevent you from doing anything at all in this world.
Basically the short version of this is if you acne scarring bothers you you should compensate for it by becoming a total badass and no one will notice. They'll be too distracted by all of your good qualities and achievements.
