Hello everyone. I am new here and I have been searching for dark spots solution all over the internet until I came up to this website acne.org forum. Excuse me with my English grammar first of all if I didn't express it properly.

Well for my story here, this acne scar dark spots that I am having, it has been with me ever since when I was teenager. I really wanted to get rid of it to find the right treatment. I am 41 now and before I had this acne problem, I remembered I used to use Oxy face wash solution for acne, and somehow I gotten this dark spots on one part of my face. It is not a birth mark or anything how some people assumed me was.

As you can see from the pictures, and I have been researching online to see what type of dark spot it is and how to treat it. I researched some terms and came up like black spot, dark pores, melasma, dark marks, hyperpigmentation, until I found something more related to it like boxcar, ice pick, and rolling scars.

I have had use some face solutions like Perfect Image Glycolic 30% gel peel, but I have no luck with it to turn it lighter or peel away the dark spots. I stopped using it and doesn't want to make matter worst.

Now can anyone with this expertly to point me out exactly what this face dark spots? And what possible treatment and maybe even a procedure? Thank you so much for any help! :)

you do seem to have some minor/shallow atrophic acne scarring, however in my onion the discolouration looks a separate issue. I suspect some laser would help with this. It could potentially be due to veins under your skin. You are lucky that discolour is usually easier to treat than atrophic scarring. Is there some dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon specializing in laser treatments near you?

Thanks Kman101 for your inputs! I remembered years ago (maybe 20) when I was in college, I got a laser treatment on my face. But that laser treatment was just a one time test to see how face react. I went to some Asian laser treatment place brought from my mom, the procedure was rather quick than extensive. I don't know if the doctors there have real knowledge about it so I only did it once for $400? (I can't remember). Of course the darknessdidn't get lighter, and I was told I should not be under the sun and stay away from UV.

I live in LA area, so there are many dermatologist could help. I haven't been really serious of getting treatment until recently. After this Covid19 settles, I definitely should look around! In the mean while, I will still search around for solution and maybe someone in this forum had similar situation as I am!
