Hey guys so a few days ago I purchased the "aztec secret Indian healing clay mask" after reading rave reviews about how it cleared up people's acne. I tried it and now I feel like my acne looks more red and inflamed and I have more small bumps after doing this, I don't have cystic acne just a lot of small bumps on forehead and my cheeks...ugh! Anyone else tried this mask with the same effects? If not is it a great idea for people with acne to be using these pore cleaning masks?

The thing you bought sounds like it might have some other ingredients that irritate your skin. I've used a clay mask before, one with lots of anti-oxidants in it, and though it didn't particularly clear my acne, it made my face so smooth, and I loved it!
Personally, I wouldn't use a clay mask for acne. Maybe for evening skin tone and softening your skin, but you should try something else acne wise.

Ok so I waited a few days and read up on it and I have heard a lot of people say it draws out the impurities so new acne may appear on your face, so I think that may be what's happening? Hopefully. I'll just give it time

Yes bentonite clay has a powerful drawing power. If you have lots of tiny bumps that are non inflamed the clay will draw the infection to the surface. Some of your pimples material will be able to be pulled out and removed by the mask and others not so much. Any inflamed pimples that are caused by the mask were actually already there and are having trouble being drawn out by the bentonite clay.
Bentonite clay is very drying so use a good moisturizer after.
Thank you all for your responses! I will just do a once I week mask so I don't irritate my skin too much. It also pulls on my skin really hard (the indian healing clay mask) and has a pulling effect on your skin & makes my top lip look huge! (Ha)
Haha! Yea the way your lips look while the mask has dries looks pretty funny. I would defiantly only use the mask once a week. Are you mixing it with raw apple cider vinegar or water?

Haha! No, I was going to go out and buy some ACV soon but just haven't gotten around to it yet so I have been just using water. Does this make any difference in the results if I used ACV?

Yea it makes a difference. Buy the raw acv. Get the Braggs brand that says " with the mother". You can find it at most grocery stores. You should also try bentonite mixed with Thayers witch hazel toner. They have a bunch of different ones and I like them all. It makes a better mask than just mixing water with it. You can also add a drop of tea tree oil or any essential oil to make it more therapeutic.
