Hello! I'm new to these message boards. I apologize if this topic has already been brought up, but a while back a friend of mine who was in cosmetology school told me about how the location of your acne typically means something different in terms of your lifestyle. I've done a little research and I've found articles that seem to support that lifestyle changes should be determined based on the location of your acne. Here's an example article:

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried these recommendations and if so how did it work for you? I've noticed that my break outs tend to be in specific locations (mostly left cheek and chin/jaw area), so I'm wondering if taking this advice could potentially work.
I don't know how well I trust it. I have noticed a correlation with consuming alcohol and breaking out to the sides of my eyes, but everything else seems pretty random.
Yeah I felt kind of the same way. The friend of mine who first told me about the correlations gave me a much simpler synopsis (i.e. Stress causes breakouts typically on your forehead, etc). The only one that I particularly noticed was I break out primarily on my left cheek and chin/jawline, which this article said can be attributed to not sleeping well and eating late at night (which are bad habits I tend to have...), but I don't necessarily think that simply cutting out snacks will solve all my skin problems.
To be honest, I've noticed correlations between where I get my acne and skin maps. I know my acne is hormonal because it's pretty much only on my chin and clears up with BC, and a few weeks ago I was ridiculously stressed/not sleeping/eating junk and I broke out on my forehead and between my eyes. I have no idea if it's accurate, but some of it seems to be true with my acne.
