I have extremely sensitive skin, its dry and has a bumpy texture, I have tiny clogged pores all over which gives it that texture (I think). Problem is I started to get acne this year and im 23!

I need all the recommendations I can get in combatting this. Ive tried to go as natural as possible with a moisturiser ive been using rosehip oil but it doesn't feel moisturising enough. But it doesn't allow my spots to heal.

I keep getting more and more spots stay on my face for ages and leaving red marks. I just don't know what to use on it!

I have been using olive oil to take my makeup off and then wash the left over on my face with cetaphil cleanser. If I use a non oily makeup remover washing my face afterwards leaves my face super dry and then I itch which leads to scratching and creating spots. But even just splashing my face with water irritates it. Im so sensitive! I also want to exfoliate as the dead skin builds up and makes it more dry I guess but I haven't found a really good way of doing this yet without irritating the hell out of my skin.

Can someone help me...im at my wits end with it! My makeup wont sit right on my skin because im having to put extra on to cover the acne and red marks but my skins so dry my foundation ends up looking horrible and flaky and its just disgusting!!

I really need help. Please anyone any suggestions... x

Hi, I have dry sensitive skin too! Some products that I like are the cetaphil moisturizing cream for dry, sensitive skin. It is very thick. I also like the Pond's dry skin cream! For cleansers I like the cerave hydrating cleanser. It really does hydrate my skin and helps with flakiness too.

I wouldn't recommend exfoliating the skin if it is very sensitive. Perhaps go a day or two without makeup and see if your skin is less irritated because maybe certain makeup products are causing the irritation. Also switch to products that are made specifically for your skin type because your skincare products can cause irritation too.

Try to keep your skincare routine very minimal, because a combination of many ingredients may not be good for your skin. Also drink lots of water!

Hey :) ty for the reply! I have managed to find that cetaphil cream on amazon. They don't seem to sell it at local drug stores in uk I think :( Also had a look at the ingredients in it and im not sure im a bit nervous as it has almond oil in and I am slightly allergic to almonds eating them. They would make my mouth and throat itch and id get some lumps come up. So im scared to try it lol

The other recommendations sound good though! Thanks so much x

I have sensitive skin too! When I was flaking about a couple months ago, i stopped using a cleanser in the morning. my morning routine is to just rinse my face with lukewarm water and top it off with a moisturizer. if i washed my face in the morning with a cleanser, my skin would be super dry and flaky. i wear make-up also, and what i use to remove my foundation off is with a cleansing oil. the cleansing oil really removes every trace of my foundation and leaves my skin moisturized and not dry. after the cleansing oil, i just use a gentle cleanser and a toner followed by my moisturizer. i could really just skip the cleanser after the cleansing oil but i'm just a bit paranoid about how my face isn't clean enough... i've used JUST a cleansing oil before for my night routine as a replacement for my cleanser and it was very moisturizing because my skin wasn't itchy, dry, and flaky. maybe you could try a cleansing oil too. i use the bobbi brown's cleansing oil! Goodluck

Thankyou j0sephine ! Really helpful. I don't usually cleanse in the morning either over worry of drying my skin more too. I might give the cleansing oil ago but I know what you mean by using a normal cleanser afterwards to get off any left over. That's why when I was using olive oil I would then cleanse the excess off with my cetaphil cleanser. May I ask what moisturiser you use? I think this may be where I am going wrong. You know they say at night is when your skin regenerates does this mean wearing a thick cream on the skin would affect this process. That's why I started using the rosehip oil a light oil as I was worried using something too thick might affect this. I might make another thread asking this.

Anyways thankyou :)
