Hi everyone!

I'm in a spot of bother (no pun intended... )

Basically, I have been on roaccutane for 6 months. Finished about three weeks ago, all simple!

But today, over the course of a day I have had a HUGE cyst or bump or lump or spot come up on my cheek, I also have a smaller one on my other cheek.

I have no clue what it is, it seems really different from any other spot I have had , but don't know if accutane has changed the kind of spots I get. I even think it could be a insect bite, as it seems quite rash-like and too big for a spot!

Please reply, I am so worried :( accutane was a struggle, and I will be really upset if I am getting much bigger spots than I did before it

Any response will be greatly appreciated

it does seem a bit sore and irritated, it might be an insect bite (if youre lucky)...but it might also be a cyst :/ is it itchy or throbbing?

did you used to get cysts that big before? is there any puss visible?

I suggest hot compresses, rather than ice. It will help speed up the life cycle of the cyst and help the puss drain faster.

Do you usually use BP? if so, be careful as skin is more sensitive when on acne medication.

Dont prod it or try to drain it imo, only if it has a head that has ripened can you drain it (draining is different to squeezing...)

Your skin may be adjusting to coming off the medication, so dont worry. This is probably just a one off, dont worry.

The rest of your skin is perfecto, and the cyst could always be in a worse spot, like your nose or between your eyes.

It will be gone soon, although the days will feel like weeks. Dont panic.

Nope, I have never had cysts before! Just white and black heads (and lots of them) so I was really confused as to why this has suddenly appeared! I have another little spot on my other cheek almost symmetrical but that came up overnight and is a lot smaller than this one!

Ahhh! Acne is so horrid!

Thanks for the help:)
