Hi people,
Any of you experience problem with tea tree oil? At first when I started with The Body Shop's tea tree oil, it did magic for me, it helped me clear my acne on my cheeks and around my jawline (not sure what kind of acne, but it was red and inflamed even when there were no acne) . My forehead's acne wasn't serious at that time.
Then afterwards I realised The Body Shop's tea tree oil no longer works, I came across Thursday Plantation's 100% pure tea tree oil. When I first used it, it worked like magic again! It dries out my cystic acne (that appeared on my chin and forehead) even when I use very little amount. After a few weeks, I realised the acne on my cheeks and chin and jawline are all gone after using the Thursday Plantation's tea tree oil, BUT, a lot of cystic acne suddenly appear on my forehead? It has been on going for around 2-3 weeks, where cystic acne keeps increasing on my forehead, while the rest of my face remain acne-free.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why one part of my face benefits from tea tree oil and another part does not seem to do so? I was thinking if it was the "purging" process that a lot of people were talking about.
I do apply moisturiser before I apply the tea tree oil, so i don't think that my skin is dry after applying tea tree oil.
At first, I thought that it might be hormonal acne because I do get cystic acne before my period. But even after my period is gone, there were still a lot of cystic acne on my forehead. And they do not go away even after 2-3 weeks!
As i'm typing this.. I can feel a new cystic acne growing in between my eyebrows.. 🙁
I'll really really appreciate it if anyone can tell me what to do..
I really really doubt it is the tea tree if you apply mousturiser beforhand. It doesn't clog pores (in my experience), it's effective and by applying mouisturiser your minimizing irritation.
It could be purely coincidental and to do with your hormones.
Acne on your forhead can also have something to do with your hair care products or oil on your hair if you have a fringe or you wear your hair down a lot. Try to find a gentle sls free shampoo and shampoo often and try to keep your hair out of your face 🙂
i always used a brand called desert essence. they have really high quality tea tree products, like their thoroughly clean face wash. then once when i ran out and the store was out and i tried thursdays plantation i broke out like crazy. might be that brand is just no good.
