About two weeks ago I noticed a painful red lump emerging from my skin so I started applying 5% BP twice daily to it, only for the top layer of skin to turn shiny and smooth even though I was applying lots of moisturizer. So I decided to take a break from the BP and just used a hydrocolloid bandaid to keep it moist. Fast forward two days later and this kind of worked: the spot was now MOSTLY flat but it was still painful and now there was a tiny whitehead. SO i took a sterilized pin and just pricked the top of it, and a little bit of pus started coming out. However i must have poked too deep because now blood has filled the pimple and it is still painful, meaning there is still pus inside and I just made it worse. I cannot drain the blood since it is not really a raised bump, the blood seems to be trapped under the skin. In the picture it appears red, however in real life it is a purple/dark brown colour from the blood being trapped deep inside the skin.PLEASE help I am so depressed over this I cannot leave my house. Should I apply some product on it or let it be? Will this even go away on its own? If so, how long will it take?
Have you taken antibiotics recently " Do you have dandruff ? Do you have a white tongue ? If the answer to one or more of these questions is yes, the problem is possibly caused by malasezzia (indicated by dandruff) or candida (indicated by white tongue) fungus. Outbreaks of candida and malasezzia are caused by taking antibiotics, and by taking some other meds.
If you get back to me with answers to the above questions, I can provide some information which may help you. In the meantime, put a dab of eucalyptus or tea tree oil on the affected spot/s (with a cotton bud/q tip) - might sting a bit. And don't touch the spot except with twice washed hands.
There is possibly an ingrown hair inside the "pimple". Dabbing the eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil on the 'pimple" might expose the ingrown hair ??
