Aha Or Bha?

I know there's a lot of topics on this, but everyone's skin is different and I want to know which would be best suited for mine. I've been looking at Paula's Choice chemical efoliants and I'm thinking of purchasing the BHA 2% gel to combat my combination skin and whiteheads/pustules. Also my skin hasn't been exfoliated in a long time so sometimes it feels and looks really dull.

There's also a AHA exfoliant which also has lots of great reviews, but I've read in most places that BHA is better for controlling my type of acne.

Does anyone else on here use PC products? If so, how effective are they?

Thanks! :)

I cant say how effective the bha has been for me....

but i would go for the liquid one...i feel its safer and you can use something on top of that (basically use it as a toner post shower for example)

Yeah, I was thinking I'd get that to use as a toner (rather than having a toner and the BHA), but I thought it may be hard to get everywhere on my face without using too much and drying out my face. The liquid form is recommended for people with really oily skin.

I used cotton pads and all over my face and it lasted me for a while...I wouldn't worry about it.....

But if you feel its an issue, give PC a try....and then if you like ur results, get an over the counter like neutrogena and see if you get the same feel.....(or just try the over the counter one first...I dont think the quality will be that different)

I woudlnt say you have to have really oily skin to use it....regular oily, or even normal skin will benefit from it....(i think PC targets that one for oily skin but...wouldnt get caught on that)

I'll probably go for Paula's Choice, since it's probably better quality. I looked at the Neutrogena 2.5% SA and I could imagine it to burn my face off the minute I put it on. PC uses a lot of antioxidants and calming ingredients.

Thanks for the advice!

It's full of alcohol. The PC BHA is water-based and contains antioxidants.

I just trust the line more than I do Neutrogena, I've never liked any of their products for my skin. That's just me though! :P

My skin seems to be okay (or even like) the alcohol-based dalacin t ...:P

Anyway...it's always good to get other people's opinion, since you never fully know how exactly u will react to things...

thanks for the feedback
