Hello everyone! I am new to this site and wanted to reach out and get some opinions from anyone who might be experiencing the same thing.. in September I had a diagnostic laparoscopy to find ovarian cysts & endometriosis. I have had major issues since this has happened from the last 6 months including pain and cystic acne along the jawline. Im currently on continuous birth control, OrthoTriCyclen which isnt helping my skin much. Is there any specific birth control that has helped with endometriosis pain as well as acne? I am a licensed Esthetician and its painfully embarrassing to have a breakout when Im supposed to have perfect skin. Please help!!

Acne is caused by bacteria,i think birth control is used with hormonal stuff.

if its the case you got bacteria causing the breakout then a simle course of anti biotics will/should clear up the breakout.

get to your dr and dont leave without oral anti biotic, lymecycline is good for a lot,i think its the tetracycline family of anti biotics.anyways, get to dr and talk and show your breakout and get oral anti biotic course.

Hormonal Acne can be triggered by a number of things, most obviously hormonal changes. Any massive hormonal changes like that will trigger a painful breakout in some people unfortunately. I used to get symptoms of endometriosis, before it got too bad was put on the pill Logynon (helped but actually worsened skin for me) and tried Yasmin as well some years later to see if it was me or my hormones (Yaz/Yasmin you have to be careful with, can have a lot of negative side effects mentally). I don't think it's a great idea to keep changing the pill however as this can trigger more fluctuations in acne. If you find a mild one that is useful for your endometriosis along with other medications, stick with it and let your skin settle. You could also try antibiotics or probiotics aimed at acne depending on what your doctor or derm thinks. There are a number of strong topical treatment as well.

See a Naturopath. The pill is just a bandaid it does not fix the underlying cause/drivers of endo or acne. Antibiotics will only worsen these conditions long term as they are directly linked to poor gut health and poor detoxification.
