Anyone Tried Faerie Organic Or Priori Coffeeberry Mineral Makeup?

I'm wondering if anyone's tried either of these mineral makeup products?

I ask because an alleged makeup artist recommended Fairie Organic's mineral makeup to someone on Yahoo! Answers, and a fellow forum member has recommended Priori Coffeeberry Perfecting Minerals foundation to me.

Thank you,

PI

Hey

I have used faerie organics before and I would recommend their products. They do a really good face primer for red blemished skin but can be quite drying to the face so a good moisturiser is key for it to look really natural looking. Also the mineral foundation is good too - but not if you have really severe acne. If your acne is mild I would recommend it.

I very much appreciate the information. :)

Currently, my acne is under control, for the most part. But after 2.5 decades' worth of acne, I've developed more scarring--the official, indented kind--and worry about how mineral makeup might look on my face. (I know that liquid foundation settles into my scars and makes them look worse as the day wears on. *sigh*)

Have you ever tried Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation? This is great for covering up acne and something I keep in my makeup bag for days my acne is quite severe (which is a lot lately). Also if your acne scars are very severe, have you ever thought about looking into laser treatments or chemical peels?

I probably wouldn't recommend mineral foundation. I have acne scarring - the red trail like kind that I am trying to treat, and the mineral foundation that I have tried just doesn't sit well on my face and it looks...dry and dull. I know for acne sufferers we have to be careful with oily foundations but I've never had a bad reaction with Estee Lauder (so long as you don't use too often), Rimmel 25 hour lasting finish foundation or MAC studio fix fluid depending on what your budget is. Also something I find is INCREDIBLE for acne cover up is Vichy foundation. I don't use this as a solid foundation but more for a concealer to cover up the blemishes.

You just need to play around with products and see what works well for you. So long as you have a good primer (if you have red skin, always try and go for yellow or green based primers to reduce the redness), get a good foundation with coverage you need, a good concealer and good face powder to set the foundation.

Also, another tip I find REEALLY works for me is an oatmeal wash. My skin has been quite inflamed lately so I've gone back to doing this wash (about a week ago) and I can already see a difference in the appearance. Gather some oatmeal in your hands and run your hand under the tap with a clenched fist, make sure its lukewarm water, then squash the oatmeal into the palm of your hands and you will get a milky substance. Apply the oatmeal to your face (including the milky substance!) and massage into your face gently for a minute or so. But be careful - it can get messy so ensure you're above a sink or something.

If you want anymore tips and advice or maybe just a chat about products that work for me you can email me - [Removed] :) I'm always wanting tips myself!

I have not tried Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. (Do you know offhand if it's water-based, non-comedogenic, etc.?)

Ironically, I've heard more negatives about laser treatments than not--e.g., people having long-term reddened skin and disappointing results seem common. One plastic surgeon told me to expect a 10-20% improvement from a non-ablative laser treatment, and nearly all of my scars are mild! Another forum member has had 5 non-ablative laser treatments and said she's only received a 20-30% improvement. That's a lot of money to spend on such lackluster results. sad.png

I'm not certain if chemical peels would work for my milder scars or not; the one and only plastic surgeon I saw didn't mention them at all as options for my skin. (Probably because he can't make as much money from them as he can from repeated laser treatments and injectable fillers.) I'd get dermarolling if I could manage to find a skin-care pro. who's trained to use the original Dermaroller tool.

My scars are not that severe--for which I'm thankful. Still, I've watched this video before. The problem is that it recommends using a cream-based foundation to hide scarring; cream-based foundation is not an option for my skin. Regardless, the results that that makeup artist achieved is pretty amazing.

I have tried home chemical peels bought from bravuralondon : [Removed]

Cheap price and definitely worth a go. I started on the 30% and for the first few times I tried it my skin was quite red but after maybe, 4-5 days it settled and my skin adjusted well to the peels. I did them every Friday night (I tried on a Friday night after work incase I had a bad reaction to it - I would have some of the weekend to get over it) Luckily though - no reaction apart from the redness I mentioned and some tingling sensation to my skin when applying it. It is a strange sensation but I thought it was a good product. After about a month of applying it once a week, my skin started to look and feel alot healthier and smoother but acne was still present. I can't say it gave perfect results for my scarring but they did seem to fade. After 6 months of using the 30% my skin wasn't really responding anymore so I bought the 50%. It was good at reducing the scarring but I have now discontinued this as I'm seeing a Dermatologist next Tuesday and may be starting course of roaccutane.

I can't say I've ever tried laser treatment simply for the reason you state, the price you have to pay.

Estee Lauder Foundation is water based and non-acnegenic - the only downside is that it is an experience foundation, but the bottle lasts a while. I bought my last bottle from ebay for a cheaper price about 3 months ago and I still have plenty.
