Pros:

I have used this creme for two days now and OMG. I can't believe my severe acne is almost all the same skin tone. No red.
This is great and cheap

Cons:

I actually don't mind the smell

This is going to make me so happy to not have acne anymore at 34 since I was 13.

Pros:

I love this product. I am 58 years old and my dad introduced me to acnomel when I was in highschool, and didn't want to go to school one morning because of pimples. He used it on his back for years. If I catch a pimple early in is often gone by morning. I have introduced it to my children and all ny nieces and nephews.

Cons:

Yes it can be a little drying. And if often dries up and darkens in the tube before its gone

For the price there is nothing better.

Pros:

It works!!!!! I have had acne since I was 10, and I've tried EVERYTHING- BP, salacylic acid- I was allergic to, triclosan- which made me itch, doxycycline--stomach couldn't tolerate and countless others, none of whom worked as well as using this

Cons:

i'm black, so the "tinted" cream isn't dark enough and doesn't blend well with my skin tone. i can only wear it at night.

it is an effective (finally!), readily available acne treatment on persons who have moderate/ severe acne that nothing else will cure. i do still use benzoyl peroxide and a mild cleanser. if you are having problems with dryness, i suggest a mild cleanser and toner with glycerin/ without alcohol to help the skin replenish and retain moisture. Olive oil is also a good moisturizer that i use when my skin became a little splotchy.

Pros:

- Drys up skin
- Provides immediate cover
- Works fast to get rid of major acne

Cons:

- May cause flaky, overly dry skin
- May look like you're wearing makeup if to heavily put on

It works well in a short period of time, but it may not provide long term results. It covers up red acne, to increase confidence, and can get rid of it overnight. For me personally it worked really great, but then I began to rely to heavily on it and it started drying up my skin too much. Causing my skin to be extremely flaky, dry, and noticeable. I still use it, as I feel flaky skin, which i can later moisturize is better than acne covered skin.

Pros:

Used acnomel cake when I was a teenager in the 70's. I really wish I could still find it. It was the only thing that worked. Now my teenage daughter could use it but I can't find it anywhere.

Cons:

none

they need to bring back the acnomel cake!!

Pros:

Tinted, hides blemishes
Shine free skin ALL day
Drys my skin out so its not so oily
Has slightly reduced number and severity of acne

Cons:

Sometimes it can be too drying, i apply moisturiser underneath
Sometimes can look a little un natural if you dont apply it right

I have been using this product for around two week and although its not a miracle cure it really helps me too cope with my acne 1. it drys out my skin which is great, i can put it on in the morning and leave my skin alone all day and it will still be shine free and matte at the end of the day (a miracle for my very shiny oily skin) 2. its tinted so it helps to cover up acne, on some good days you cant even see my acne, on the other hand sometimes if its not applied right it can streak and look unnatural 3. My acne has reduced; not completely but acnomel has made it a little better and so im willing to keep with it to see if it clears up even more ill be reporting back in a few more weeks

Pros:

Gets rid of white heads and just beneath the surface white heads really fast.

Cons:

NOT FOR COMBINATION SKIN!!! TOO DRYING

I think this stuff works if you have severe acne. I have light to moderate acne. When I used this product as a spot treatment on some beneath the surface pimples on my cheeks (stress related) it dried them out beautifully. I decided to use this stuff on the small beneath the surface pimples on my forehead, BAD IDEA! At first it seemed the product was working there too but after a few days I noticed extreme dryness and more small pimples. That happened December 2009 and I'm just now (February 2010) getting rid of those nasty little bumps. Bottom Line: Don't use this if you have combination skin. It's just gonna make you break out more. Probably best to use as a spot treatment on really bad, big pimples.

Pros:

It works! Wears well under Bare Minerals.

Cons:

I had only been able to find it at one drug store and I found out today, they've discontinued shipments. WHY?

My cystic acne had gotten so bad that I was seriously considering Accutane. Doctor's won't prescribe it to women of child bearing age, that can't be good. I was desperate. I'd tried everything over the counter and a few pricey prescriptions. Nothing was helping. I found acnomel and my face was clear in two weeks!

Pros:

Been dealing with horrible acne issues for years and years and this is the only stuff that not only dries up pimples ASAP, but it has prevented my usual breakouts. I love this stuff.

Cons:

The only thing that's a little cumbersome is the consistency. It's not that bad....I leave it on all day under makeup and it feels slightly masky, but not cakey. I find that if I put lotion on over top after it dries its not as bad.

I've tried everything (over and behind the counter) and this is the only thing that works. For 10.99 what's not to love?

Pros:

Works great!
Perfect and i mean PERFECT skin color match. When im wearing acnomel it just looks like i have perfect skin.

Cons:

Smells. I can't smell it once it is on my skin, but when my bf goes in for a kiss he says he can DEFINITELY smell it. oh well : )

oh and i have trouble finding this product. I have only seen it in two stores.

I love love love this product. Before using acnomel i was using clearasil tinted treatment, which is basically the same item. They both contain Resorcinol (2%), Sulfur (8%) and are geared towards adult acne. I like acnomel better because of the consistency and the fact that it matches my skin PERFECTLY. When i apply this stuff it just looks like i have flawless skin. I havent gotten ONE pimple from using this item and it has dried out all of the small pimples that i did have. I basically use this as a foundation. My regimen consist of: Papaya bar Soap Witch Hazel Toner Acnomel (applied with a wet finger) I usually wait about 30 mins for the product to kind of melt into my skin and if my skin is not flaky i just apply blush over top and then leave the house!! IF my skin is dry then i can apply lotion on top and it'll leave my skin looking and feeling matte all day long! I think its also a wonderful primer. Before this i was using BP 5% which was working wonderfully but it was leaving my face really dry and dead looking. I'm trying the sulfur route now, and im quite happy with the results.
