Pros:

Excellent for keeping my rosacea under controle. My dermatologist told me to dilute Hibiclens with water 1:1, apply it with a cotton ball or pad, let sit for 3 mins. And rinse off with water, 2x/day.

Cons:

It can be drying but nothing I can't handle with a good moisturizer.

For me, it's been a miracle option to treat rosacea since I am allergic to Metogel and my skin is highly sensitive and reactive. Hibiclens doesn't irritate my skin and keeps inflamation down.

Pros:

Cleanses skin well. Keeps closed comedonal acne at bay.

Cons:

Actually began to create the cystic acne I was hoping to cure, drying, impedes the acne lesion healing process.

I had been using this product on my face because I seemed to have begun getting what I figured to be cystic acne and excessive closed comedones on my forehead. I figured since it can be used on cysts that may exist on other parts of my body, it would surely help my face. I actually figured the cysts on my body and the cystic acne on my face was connected. Nevertheless, I continued to use hibiclens on my face because I had read it was a great alternative to BP and was having little to no luck with BP for some odd reason (pre-hibiclens, BP was a god-send). Hibiclens cleanses well and seemed to curb the closed comedones but after 6 months of religiously using it, I'd routinely get at least 2 excruciating large cystic acne lesions somewhere on my face. They'd last about 2 weeks before somewhat subsiding (though not completely) and two more would appear. I couldnt understand why this was happening when my health was perfectly fine. I figured it to be a late onset cystic acne case and stuck to my Hibiclens to cure it. Also, I'd notice that if I'd get a small pustule, it would take a good month to heal. Now understand, I scar easily so the round-the-clock appearances of cystic acne RUINED my forehead (loads of hyperpigmentation) and we know that the longer an acne lesion remains inflammed on your face, the higher chance for lasting acne scars. Luckily, I took the chance and stopped using Hibiclens altogether after a year! Would you believe the cystic acne cleared immediately!?!?! I havent gotten anything close to cystic acne since - 6 mons. now. I still suffer from closed comedonal acne and blackheads but a combination of bp and salicylic acid works just fine. And it works fine now because I've stopped washing my face with Hibiclens, as I once was. I just want to make sure I shared this so as to make sure no one else reading reviews on this site inflicts undue scarring of their skin due to the inflammation hibiclens has the potential for causing.

DO NOT TRY if you have severe acne!
I've had severe acne since I was 16 (I'm 28 now,) and I happened to read all of the great reviews on this site about using Hibiclens to wash my face with. Let me tell you, that is the worst mistake I ever made! I started using it in May 2014. Within 3 weeks my face broke out in these huge, puss-filled, boil-like pimples the size of nickels! Not only that, but it chased the bacteria away from my face and all over my arms, so for the first time in my life my arms were covered in acne. I stopped using it immediately and it took about 6 months for the boils to go away. Here I am a year later, and I've just now gotten rid of the acne on my arms. I use a combination of Proactiv and Apricot Scrub (I mix it together in my palm,) and then scrub my face and arms with it. My face is way clearer now, and my arms are back to being acne-free. If you have severe acne, please don't waste your time with this crap!

Not a chance that Hibiclens "chased the bacteria away from your face to your arms", you obviously have the bacteria in your body. Hibiclens does not work that way. You sound like a political ad for Proactive.

Pros:

This product works miracles on my acne; nothing else has worked, even prescriptions! We use this in the medical office where I work and that is how I found out about it. I think I may be the only one, but I LOVE the smell...you know you're clean!

Cons:

Liquid is too thin and you go through it quickly.

This product is definitely worth trying! It has worked better than anything else for me! I LOVE HIBICLENS!!

Pros:

Kills bacteria about as good as anything I've ever used. Does not dry skin. Works fast (best my skin has looked in a long, long time). Overall its just great for clearing acne. Quite affordable Also.

Cons:

Must be careful to not get in eyes and ears when using, but thats not too hard

Adding this to my routine in just the last week has made truly an incredible difference. I've had moderate to severe acne mostly all on my face and although products like benzoil peroxide and salic. acid help to control it, I seam to never be able to get it under control. Although it is too early to know 100%, so far this has helped the deep pimples to go away and I've not had a breakout since using it. It seams that the Hibiclens removes all the bacteria and microbes on the face which allows the acne to heal as normal skin would. This is the first product that has worked well enough to the point where I thought I should review it for others to know about it. I don't know if it will get rid of all acne but I would certainly try it with your routine and see. I use it once every night as the last part of my routine. I just rub it into my skin leave it on for a few minutes then wash it off with water. Hope it helps some more people. God bless.

Pros:

Reduced redness
Prevented new break outs at first
Clean Feeling!

Cons:

Dries out skin
inconsistent

I started using this after my friend recommended it. I used it consistently for a few weeks. It stopped the break outs and gradually reduced the current break out appearance. It dries out your skin and makes it flaky so using a good moisturizer would be a good idea. In my opinion its too harsh to use on mild acne on a daily basis. If you are someone who has really severe or cystic acne this is a great product because it really does kill bacteria. Around finals my skin went from tolerable to unbearable over night. It was red and painful. After a couple days of using this it helped reduce it tremendously. If you have mild to moderate acne this would be to treat break outs on those bad days for sure as a go to wash. But if your acne is severe i recommend it for frequent use.

Pros:

The ONLY thing I've ever used that has cleared up my Hidradenitis Suppurativa (Acne Inversa)......and I've tried everything.

Cons:

Wish it was a little thicker in consistency.

I cannot live without this product. I've used everything from powerful oral antibiotics to tea tree oil for my HS, and nothing worked even close to as well as this product. It is a dream come true, after 10 years of pain and embarrassment.

Pros:

Cheap! Easily accessible! Smells good!

Cons:

I don't have any cons.

Hiblicens works! I had a flare up of acne and used it just because I ran out of Neosporin ointment and had it handy. Could not believe the results. Skin was clear the next day and even clearer the day after. Cheap fix for a 20 year problem! Thank GOD! Finally.

Pros:

Works very well, cleared the deep cysts along my jawline and I no longer get large, inflamed pimples. Prevents blackheads and clogged pores from becoming infected. *Great* alternative to BP, has been FAR more effective for me.

Cons:

Not a stand-alone product, wont do anything about blackheads. Thin consistency. You might have to hunt around different pharmacies to get a larger bottle.

I cleanse with Earth Science Clarifying Cleanser, which is oil-free, soap free, and non-drying. I then follow that with a Hibiclens scrub--pour hibiclens on a dry cotton pad and gently scrub all over my damp face for at least 2 FULL MINUTES before rinsing. It's very important to scrub long enough--when I first tried Hibiclens it didn't work well because I didn't give it enough time to kill the bacteria. The cotton pad also provides gentle exfoliation. I then use a toner--Earth Science Clarifying Astringent. In the AM, I then apply Mychelle Clear Skin Serum (with SA and retinol), in the PM I use Collective Wellbeing Sal 'n Sul lotion, which is oil-free and contains sulfur and Salicylic acid. After work, I cleanse briefly with a SA and Glycolic Acid cleanser that is also non-drying. For months I was using all of these products WITHOUT hibiclens and could not get clear. I added the Hibiclens twice a day and this is the clearest I've been in YEARS. No cysts, no big red pimples!

Pros:

This is my first review on this site, b/c this is the first product that actually worked very quickly and dramatically. This is a cheap and fast method of getting clear; regardless of skin type or condition. Complete wonder. 1week-75% clear.

Cons:

Don't get any in your mouth b/c it tastes terrible. The initial Warnings about this product scared me at first, but it is mostly for Dr. treating sedated patience.

Although I had pretty good results w/ DK's Cleanser, AHA, and BP; it still seemed like I was barely winning the battle most days. I have been relatively patient b/c new cysts seems to die quicker, however it still doesn't seem to be really preventing new one's from developing. After reading reviews I picked up a bottle of Hibiclens at Rite Aid. Application: Cleanse w/ DK's Cleanser, then buff w/ a damp non-abrasive facial sponge + Hibiclen. Allow it to dry like a mask, then rinse. I then apply my moisturizer + AHA (no BP). After 5 days I'm about 75% clear and have been able to discontinue BP for the last 4 days; which was causing skin discoloration. Can it be this simple?
