Safe for everyday and showing results
Hello. I'm a 26 year old female. I didnt start getting acne till I was about 20. and I get those huge cysts that take months to go away. antibiotics didnt help for long term. When I was 22 they put me on actutane and that worked combined with being on birth control. Within a year after actutane my acne was back. Birth control wasnt working either. Turned out after getting blood tested that I have too much male hormones. The medicine they wanted to give me sounded dangerous and I could only be on it for 6 months. I decided to take a more natural approach after finding out about my hormone imbalance. Eating clean did help, but its hard being super strict on your diet. Anytime I would get a flare up I felt like a failure. About 2 weeks ago I started mixing ACV and water before my meals and this has been the best my face has looked in awhile. I'm not completely rid of acne, but I have no more cysts. I have a few small pimples but those are easy to treat. I'm hoping after those go away I wont have anymore. The most promising sign is that I'm about to start my cycle in a few days and still havent seen any new blemishes. (I'm not on BC anymore) I know acne bacteria can linger for a few weeks but every day I see less and less blemishes. I hope after a month or two I can be rid of acne if I keep this up :)

Your review is refreshing and gives me hope. I'm 39 and my hormones have been out of whack since i was a teen. No bc or supplements could balance them. I suffer terrible pms monthly...that last for weeks at a time, in reality i have maybe 1 week (barely) of "normalcy" a month. On top of all that, while my auntie suffers from celiac, i was recently dx with non-celiac gluten intolerance. My digestive system is just a mess. I've read countless articles and reviews regarding ACV helping immensely with this. I bought my first bottle of ACV yesterday and will be starting my first drink as i finish writing to you. I hope i'll get some relief as i've exhausted every other option. I just wanted to say Thank You.

How's your skin ???
February 21, 2012

Pros:

Softer skin
Reduced size in acne considerably (for both present acne and future breakouts)
Reduced redness

Cons:

Smell, although you overcome it after a few days.

I'm 23 and have been on two courses of accutane, 1 of doxycycline, 1 of monocycline and a few other various forms of both topical and oral medications for acne. Ironically, I have never had severe acne and each medication cleared it up but after a couple months my acne would always return. Now that you understand more of what my acne was like and the lengths I went to cure it you should be able to relate to me if you are in a similar circumstance. I had given ACV a try once before and found no results. After some time I decided to try it again but this time both topically and orally with the right type of ACV (Bragg). After a couple of days my skin improved tremendously so much so that I began to tell my family members that it was the cure for me. In the last few days I have gotten a couple breakouts (nothing bad) but I am under the impression that they may have just being lying dormant before I began ACV. I highly recommend the use of this product. Regimen: Wash face with blackhead scrub. Apply 1:3 ACV with cotton swab to face and let dry. (Morning and night) Ingest ACV twice daily. (Combined total of 4 cap fulls from the bottle.) Short and sweet! Furthermore, combined with my above regimen I take a steady dose of daily vitamins as well as protein/creatine for any of those that might being similarly devoted to going to the gym the vitamins I take are: Fishoil B-complex Orange Triad Multi Glutamine Enzyme Digest (for protein breakdown) All of these are taken throughout the day. Do not take glutamine with protein. It causes putrification.

Be careful with b complex guys because it broke me out like crazy. I didn't even know it was the cause since I realized it's the only new thing on my regimen. I've drank it for 50 days and gave me more than 60 active pimples. :( Anyways. I'm 3 week b complex free and my acne cleared up dramatically. Just dark spots. Be careful!!

Pros:

Great for you stomach
Makes skin better
Cheap!

Cons:

tastes bad but who cares?

I have been using this for months now. It worked great in the beginning by itself (using topically followed by coconut oil on skin and taking 2 tspns twice a day internally). After a few months it wasn't working and I found I needed to change my diet. I had cancer 5 years ago and stopped Tamoxifen 1 year ago. Almost no wheat and dairy :( and added 8 ozs of pomegranate juice :) to help cut the hormone effect that is definitely my problem. Now the apple cider vinegar is helping with the skin and with the stomach as well (I have dieted like this before and had stomach problems. Not with the ACV now). I use the acv and coconut oil at night and pure aloe in the morning before moisturizing.

Pros:

Clear up acne quickly,
skin feels great in general,
good skin sustains for long

Cons:

taste,
smell,
acidity is not good for teeth, so try to avoid the contact.

Just like Lucid from NC's Review. I had quite a bit of acne, not much but since I constantly have break outs I would have read blemishes and white heads everywhere. I tried so many drugstore products but they only seem to work temporarily. I heard that Bragg's ACV is good and IT IS, but it has to be BRAGG's!!! I take about 2 tea-spoon shots of the vinegar after my dinner and wash it down with a large load of water. This stuff stings my throat like acid. I think the thing about this product is that it help bringing the pH of our blood up to the right value (I assume, due to my diet I don't have the healthiest values). So my guess, if you're already healthy (from the inside) and still have acne, this product wouldn't do a thing to help. I also use the vinegar as a toner twice a week. I apply it directly, leave it for 10 mins and wash it off with cold water (I got this from some dermatologist's advice on Youtube). But after a couple of weeks I have no need to do it anymore. IT STUNG!!!! the RESULT: Within days I observe no more break outs, although blemishes were still clearly visible. The toner technique does help eliminating the breakouts but because of its acidity, I was a bit afraid to keep using it directly on my face. Around 2 weeks after, all the bumpy red blemishes start to become less severe and my skin starts to smooth out. now 4 months after. I feel like I am much healthier. I feel like I am in control of the acne. the down point is that the ACV tastes and smells really bad. I tend to intentionally forget to consume it. But it has to go on for more than a week until I start breaking out again. right now I only have to drink it once to twice a week to keep the balance going.

truely is a miracle cure
I never usually write reviews however felt I should share my experience. I was a fortunate teenager and didn't suffer with acne for a long period of time - maybe for a few months on 2 occasions during my teen years but it went away on its own and throughout my early 20s my skin was pretty good. mid-twenties i started to get acne all around my jaw line and cheeks. it generally been fluctuating over the last 3 years and more recently became worse with a number of red papules and pustules. I started using organic apple cider vinegar (braggs) 4 weeks ago - 1 tea spoon diluted in water morning and night, and one tea spoon with 4-5 teaspoons of water to apply topically on my skin twice a day. Ive also been using castor oil every day as a moisturiser for the last 2 weeks. When initially using apple cider vinegar - i definately got some 'purging' - lots of new pustules over the first 10 days which were easy to pop and did not scar significantly. definatley has settled in the last 2 weeks. Over the last 7 days, I can honestly say my skin hasnt looked this good in ages - i have no new spots, my scars are fading and i finally feel like i have a normal face again and can go out with only a thin layer of foundation to hide the scars. I would definately recommend at least trying apple cider vinegar out and castor oil for moderate acne. good luck all.

Pros:

Cheap and fast-acting. I have the clearest skin I've had in years. It is so amazing and has worked so quickly that I find it hard to believe.

Cons:

The smell and taste is pretty bad so it takes some getting used to. You may be subject to alot of jokes at family gatherings ( which you can always respond to by saying "you can laugh all you want, I have clear skin."

Before starting this, I had extremely oily skin. My shiny forehead was covered in bumps, my temples had hard to get rid off zits, and my cheeks were constantly broken out. For 5 long years I felt hopeless and very ashamed of it. After a month of organic ACV, ONLY 1 MONTH, I now have clear healthy looking skin. I get tons of compliments like "OMG your skin looks so good", "what have you done?", and "was your skin always this great?" I am so HAPPY. I hardly break out anymore, but on those days that i do( ie. time of the month), it is one or two tiny white heads that are barely even noticeable. It has been heaven-sent for me. Try it out because with this there is absolutely nothing to loose. I drink 2tsp mixed with an 8oz. glass of water through a straw twice a day(in the morning after breakfast and at night before going to bed)

Pros:

stops cystic acne from forming!
clears acne completely!

Cons:

the smell and taste at first

I'm not going to claim that this will work for everyone, but for me it cleared acne completely when used consistently. When I drink about a tablespoon a day for a week straight, my acne clears up completely! But then I'll start slacking because my face is clear and I'll start to get a pimple, so I'll start taking it for a couple days straight and the pimple goes away. I would highly recommend using it.

Pros:

clearing my skin!
helping with my digestion
easily attainable

Cons:

smell and taste (if you're like me and were struggling with acne, you're not going to mind either of those so-called cons)

I've been having light breakouts on a very regular basis, and for someone who always had clear skin until about 2 years ago, this was a big deal. I did minoclycline (which worked, but I don't like taking antibiotics or much medication in general) and Epiduo. Cleared it up, but once I quit, acne came back. Just recently tried Proactiv. The regular strength tore my face up -- super dry and peeling. The gentle formula just didn't do anything. Don't spend all that $ on it, because it won't work. I recently found Apple Cider Vinegar, and within the 2 days I've been using it, it's dried up the pimples that I had. They're not gone by all means, but are on their way. I'm hoping that after a week of drinking it and applying it topically, I'll be seeing better results than I ever have in the 1.5 months of using Proactiv. Plus this is $7 for a big bottle of Braggs Organic ACV whereas you'll be spending $25+ on Proactiv's so-called miracle products. I had previously been using regular ACV and will now be trying the Organic ACV with the "mother" still in it. I'm mixing 2 tsp of ACV with 1 cup of water and drinking it 3x daily. This seems to be helping me because I feel like it's my hormones that are causing all the problems, and if it can be taken care of naturally, I'm all for it!

Pros:

None for me!

Cons:

-Terrible taste
-Made me light headed

For over a month, I took a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in two cups of water. The brand I used was organic and contained mother. I drank it diligently every day, but never noticed an improvement....ever! I read that it was some sort of 'miracle' that helped with so many things (even beyond acne), but I felt and looked EXACTLY the same as before I started drinking it. I actually experienced negative effects-after about a week, I felt really light headed every time I stood up...and that wasn't just while I was drinking it. That was a consistent occurence. I know it was the apple cider vinegar because it never happened before, and it didn't happen after I stopped drinking it. It seems to work for other people, so I would still say it's worth a shot. It's pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things. The taste is bad, but take comfort in the fact that many other things taste much worse!

Maybe because you're anemic? It lowers down blood pressure. Don't drink it if you have anemia.

Pros:

-affordable
-has numerous benefits for health

Cons:

-when first getting used to it taste can be overwhelming.

I love ACV!! I heard it could aid with weight loss, so I tried it, and noticed after a few weeks that my skin had improved! It didn't completely clear everything up but there is definitely an improvement. It has so many benefits for the digestive system and skin, it just makes sense to use it. I would recommend using the organic one though.
