Works great for acne prone skin!!
I've tried it and it works great!! After applying it for more than 3 times, you can see the redness on your skin reduced and the pores are reduced in size. But not forgetting you need a great cleanser and sunscreen as well. Also, drink plenty of water and sleep!! If you are serious in removing acne, you need to follow the acne tips.

Not an every day mask, but works great!

Pros:

black head eraser
pore minimizing
great for oily skin

Cons:

The results outweigh its cons

I have SUPER sensitive, oily skin. I also have moderate acne. I cannot use anything on my face without it breaking out, Cetaphil, Clean&Clear, Neutrogena, expensive acne kits, etc. The first time I used baking soda (1 tbs of baking soda mixed with a little witch hazel and water) as I was rubbing it on, my skin was on fire! I could not get the baking soda mix off fast enough! It immediately turned my whole face bright red. However, as I was examining my face for damage, it was like the baking soda has loosened up every blackhead on my face, especially my nose! I went over my skin with some witch hazel afterwards to soothe it and literally the next day I could see an improvement in my skin. My giant, oily pores were much smaller and looked great! My skin also looked better too! I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use, it is an intense detox. I have used it once a week now for the past 5 weeks and my skin looks and feels waaay better than it did. It also no longer burns my skin when I use it, which I think is because I no longer have huge pores. Most importantly skin looks and feels healthy! I still have acne, but it doesn't hurt and throb like it use to. My face is also not a constant shade of red.

Pros:

smoother clearer skin
blackheads reduced , pores shrunk
reduces and helps clear pimples

Cons:

can be to harsh for sensitive skin

I have now stopped buying exfoliators after discovering baking soda. once to twice a week depending on how bad my skin is i mix it with a mild cleanser ( like cetaphil ) to exfoliate with. After using this I find my skin softer, smoother, blackheads mildly reduced, pores shrunken. It does leave your skin a bit red after. I overal think that this does clear up my skin. I havnt used it yet as a mask only exfoliator/cleanser. I also use baking soda as toothpaste . Some people probably wouldnt like the taste but I dont mind . I think that baking soda cleans my teeth better than regular toothpaste and also leave my breath fresher and teeth whiter.

Pros:

-Reduces redness
-easy too wash off
-WORKS IMMEDIATELY!
-not expensive
-makes skin color even, not splotchy

Cons:

-Can be stingy.
-hard to get the right consitancy

Tried it for the first time this morning after reading these reviews. Made the mask and kept it on for 5 minutes. It DID start to burn, but as soon as I stepped into the shower, it felt great. Rinsing it gives a cool smooth texture to your face, and my skin was much better afterwards. Looks A LOT better. However, the whiteheads that aren't popped look more obvious after it, and seem to be more poppable, sometimes that can be good. I plan to keep using this, along with my OXY face wash (10% BP) which works ok. I really think this could work and fix my acne!! :))

Pros:

Cheap
Fast Acting
Easy to Use
Shows Results
Not Full of Chemicals

Cons:

Messy if making a mask- dries quickly and flakes

This is the best thing I have used by far for my acne! I suffer from acne on my face, back, and chest. Im 18 and it has been 4 years now that I have been looking for something to control my breakouts as it keeps me from going out to the beach and wearing things I want to. I used Baking Soda for the first time today and I am already seeing results! For the first time in many years it is clearing up on my chest and shoulders, fast! I highly recommend this, you have nothing to lose. I scrubbed my face with Baking Soda and water, left it on for about 10 minutes, washed it off, and applied fresh squeezed lemon juice. Working very well so far!

Pros:

-Cheap
-Can use as a facewash or mask
-You control the consistency

Cons:

-A little stinky
-A little messy

Baking soda has been working amazingly! I've used ProActiv, Philosophy, Juice Organics, and Clinique in the past. However, baking soda has worked the best so far. It has slowly been clearing up my skin and I can't wait to see the results in the weeks to follow. I've noticed reviews stating that baking soda burns - for me I've tried so many products that the slight tingling sensation doesn't bother me at all. So if you are in the same boat (meaning you've tried so many things to get rid of your acne!) then don't worry about it stinging. My regimen: Wash face morning and night with 1/2 tbsp baking soda and 1 pump Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Follow with Apple Cider Vinegar toner (1/3 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup green tea, 1/3 cup water). You can google other recipes; some use aloe and other ingredients to make it smell better. Apply CeraVe lotion.

Pros:

Brightens Skin
Exfoliates Well

Cons:

SENSITIVE SKIN BEWARE
Broke Me Out In Tiny Red Dots All Over My Face! Which Makes My Acne Appear 20X Worse :/

I was really hoping that this would work, but it did nothing for me but cause more problems. I think to use this method you'd better have pretty hefty skin it is definity not a great option for someone with sensitive skin! I wouldn't say that its a horrible method I just think it probably only works on people who do not have sensitive skin. So try it if you have normal skin, but for my fellow sensitive skinned people beware. :O

Pros:

Effectively gets rid of dead skin cells, revealing new healthy skin. Lightens scars. :D

Cons:

Can be a BIT hard to get it all off. (:

This works great as an exfoliant, and it's cheap! I found that brand name exfoliants just made my skin red and itchy and made me break out more, even though my skin isn't sensitive. Just add half a teaspoon to your regular cleanser and scrub away! (:
