Pros:

Cheap, readily available everywhere.. great for combination skin

Cons:

I cant think of any!

I was frustrated by my half oily and half normal skin type.. I tried all cosmetic scrubs, all home remedies that were poseted on the net but baking soda is the best way to deal with combination skin. Blackheads, large pores are particular problems of combination skin.. Use the BS and water paste as a facewash and u will never need to use any facewash, toner or astringent! But do not wash your face with the BS paste more than twice a day.. After one application, i noticed that my pores had shrunk, i could hardly see any blackheads and my skin was looking fresher and fairer apart from being smooth! i am in love with this paste.. But be sure to use a moisturiser after washing your face.. I personally use a calamine lotion after the BS paste as it soothes down the skin irritations it any and gives an additional glow..

Pros:

Makes skin feel soft and reduces inflammation around the pimple(s) by A LOT!

Cons:

Stings just barely, but otherwise none.

So, basically, I have graduation pictures being taken in 2 days, and I am desperate and willing to try any acne remedy there is. My acne that is found on my forehead isn't THAT bad, but I would say that it is moderate. This is what I did with my baking soda: I put some of the baking soda in a glass. Then, I added about 7 mL of cool water. The mixture should be thick, so if it is too diluted, add more baking soda. Stir with your finger. Put the paste-like substance on the spot(s) with the most inflammation. Rub in circular motion. After about 1-2 minutes, stop rubbing, and rinse face with cool water untill ALL baking soda is gone. If your skin dries up a little like mine did, just put on some aloe vera jelly and it should help. This method reduces inflammation very well. I am planning on using this method approximately 5 more times before my pictures.

Pros:

Very affordable, completely removed blackheads, gentle and makes hands and face baby smooth! Brightens up skin noticeably, removing oil and impurities without causing irritation.

Cons:

Dries skin out, a moisturizer is a must.

I typically have very clear skin, my problem areas being a smattering of blackheads on my nose, enlarged pores once in a while, and dry skin by the corners of my mouth. Recently I started getting more and more blackheads, and I needed a cheap and fast solution! I looked at all kinds of homemade face masks and scrubs, but I was always missing one or two key ingredients. Then I decided to try this, as I have baking soda sitting in my bathroom right now. I mixed a handful of baking soda with a small amount of cold water, rubbed it between my hands and applied it to my problem areas. Instantly I noticed a brightening of my skin as I rubbed the mixture on my face in little circles. I rinsed with cool water and patted my face dry. As soon as I finished I applied a moisturizer. I can see and feel how clear my skin is!

Pros:

It took out some or most of my blackheads on my nose.

Cons:

It burned and made my skin a little dry.

This is good for treating blackheads not pimples. This is meant for blackheads not pimples.

Pros:

smooths skin, easy to use, exfoliates, very cheap, works!

Cons:

burns a little

After reading some posts, I started using it as a mask- leave it on for 20min then rinse. BAD IDEA. It burned like hell and my face was so red afterward. I stopped using it but I started again a few days ago. Instead of leaving it on, I massaged it lightly into my face and then rinsed off right away. Followed with ACV and moisturizer. My face feels so much smoother and I haven't seen any new zits! Sweet! And my makeup goes on soooo smooth! I just want to touch my face! I'm waiting to see if my stupid blackheads will go away. The thing about baking soda: don't over do it. Once a day, no harsh scrubbing or leaving it on. Trust me, it will do its job.

Burned, makes your skin really dry and red.

Pros:

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons:

MY SKIN IS RED, ROUGH - THINK IT'S BURNED!!!!!! EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN!!!!!!

It takes a lot for my skin to go red. But this little ****** has well and truly messed up my skin. I applied it with a little water and massaged my skin GENTLY for about a few seconds then it stung like hell, I quickly washed it off. nd now half my face is so red, the next day it was still red and my skin is rough to touch and even when you look at my skin, it looks very dry and the texture just does not look right. PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

I use this as an exfoliant about every other day. Everyday for me is too much. I love it. It is cheap. It works well to exfoliate and brighten the skin some. The exfoliant is very fine. Your skin feels baby smooth.

Cons:

Do overuse. Too much exfoliation can dry the skin. Exfoliate with this product for 60seconds and that is it.

It does not make me break out; however everyone is different. Try it. It most likely will do more good than bad. I was skeptical at first. I thought, "Baking soda on your face?" But it works. You feel really clean. I use lemon as well. I put the lemon juice on first with cotton ball/little water added and let sit for 10min...then I mix 1tablespoon baking soda/1 tablespoon water and exfoliate.
