Pros:

-makes skin soft
-did not irritate skin
-very cheap
-noticed improvements with my acne

Cons:

tastes salty..

i have had bad acne on my chin and around my mouth for about a year now. i am now in 9th grade and people make fun of it and my self esteem has been destroyed. i looked on here at what has gotten good reviews and i saw this did. i went and made a paste and applied it. i left it on for about 1 minute then washed it off. this morning i noticed an improvement in the 2 biggest pimples. i applied it again but left it on for 10 minutes and then washed it off. i hope this works because i have tried so much like acnefree and mychelle products as well as neutrogena and proactiv. I cant say wether it works or not but so far it has given me hope. i suggest giving it a try.

Pros:

- reduced my pimples/blackheads/whiteheads
- started using it about 2 years ago and still use it
- really realy cheap and easy
- wiped imperfections and evenly toned my skin.

Cons:

- DO NOT USE THIS EVERYDAY. I was using it as my only skincare product, with a bit of moisturizer after, morning and night. It DRYS your skin completely. Only use as an exfoliate maybe once or twice a week
- In my long term use, my skin became noticibely lighter than my neck and chest. I received numerous comments about this, but only from people I spent like every day with (family and close friends).
- DO NOT USE EVERYDAY otherwise this may happen to you. Once of twice a week as an exfoliatio

Good for 1-2 times a week use

Pros:

* leaves skin with a nice glow
* clears acnes, blackheads
* Easy to use

Cons:

* somewhat messy
* can be drying

LOVE IT! found solutions to the cons.First keep a small container with baking soda in bathroom, wet face first with warm water, dip fingers in baking soda, clean entire face. To help with the drying effects of baking soda I use pure honey (Make sure it's pure and doesn"t have corn syrup added) as an after wash. Just put a quarter size amount in your hand, rub al over face, let sit a minute or two and rinse off. I follow up with cold water rinse to close pours. Makes Skins glow, even has deminished lines, scars and wrinkles!

Pros:

Its all natural. And cheap too!

Cons:

Just a little burning, but I have super sensitive skin so I expect it.

I've been reading so many good things about using baking soda so I thought I would give it a try. It's to early for me to tell how well it will work but I have faith! I used it last night and this morning mixed in with my Mary Kay deep cleansert and then I used it tonight as a paste with water. It burned a little especially on my lower jaw where I am broken out, but it's ok now. I applied mosturizer afterwards but no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide as usual, I dont want to mix the two. I'm hoping to see some good results when I wake up in the morning! I will keep posting!

Good for extreme breakouts
When I get a horrendous breakout I use a baking soda face mask for 5 minutes, before bed, and when I wake up in the morning the spots are virtually gone! Despite this I would be careful because baking soda is gritty it can irritate the skin causing greater oil production. Because of this, I only save it for extreme breakouts.

Pros:

-Exfoliates my skin
-Soft matte skin afterwards
-Feels very clean

Cons:

-Looks subtly dried out, but in a few hours my natural oils will balance this out. I'm not sure I'd even call this a "con"

Today I used baking soda on my face for the first time. I'm very pleased and even surprised with the results! I used about 1/4 teaspoon and ran the water enough into my palm to get a good paste going (note: this was a very thin paste--I didn't want to over do it) and gently rubbed it around my face with my fingers. When I noticed skin balling up and literally just peeling off of my face, I got a rag with cold water on it and gently rubbed my face. Then I rinsed. I had no idea that baking soda would exfoliate my skin! My skin looks and feels beautiful. And clean! Baking soda is now a permanent part of my beauty regimen.

Pros:

I works!!!

Cons:

tingled when i first started to us it- but not anymore

I first steamed my face over boiling water (10-15 min) to open and loosen my clogged pores, then applied the baking soda mask... I've done this only 3 times and my pores are smaller and the fine bumps are disappearing

Pros:

Exfoliating
Chemical-free
Inexpensive

Cons:

Can be messy

Every other day, I add baking soda to my non-medicated facial soap. It exfoliates and leaves my skin feeling smoother and cleaner. The best part is that it can be added to any non-medicated, mild cleanser for exfoliating purposes. It's better than the "microbeads" found in most drugstore scrubbers, and is gentler than your standard apricot scrub. I've never tried a baking soda mask but I think it works great at scrubbing off dry, dead skin.

Pros:

* Exfoliates
* Softens skin and evens texture
* Seemed to help with my skin tone
* Helps to treat blackheads
* Cheap

Cons:

* A bit messy
* Dries my skin out if I use it for a few consecutive days or more
* May make sensitive skin break out mildly.

I find that this is extremely efficient at clearing my blackheads on my nose. I see results every time I use it. I think it might be just my sensitive skin, but after a few uses, I started getting pimples on my nose where I was applying the baking soda. I kept going however, as I figured that would be a temporary tradeoff for clearing my skin. When I stopped, however, my blackheads started coming back. So, for me at least, this works, but only with continued use.

Pros:

cheap, household item,makes skin soft, dries other pimples.

Cons:

tatstes SALTY.

I just started using the baking soda mixed with water making a paste two times a day about two days ago. I started using the baking soda to get rid of my very dark acne scars. They have not faded but my skin feels alot softer. Some acne bumps have gone down. I had so many blackheads on my nose and already I see them clearing. I think thats pretty good for just using this for 2 days. After two weeks or so i will report back.
