Pros:

no side effects, inexpensive (odorless pills from trader joe's)

Cons:

the pill is pretty big to swallow

my acne has cleared up in less than 2 weeks! i keep it in the freezer and i've never had a single fishy burp. sooo much better than the hormone therapy and antibiotics my derm prescribed for my acne! absolutely no side effects and it's good for your overall health too!

Horrible

Pros:

Mood slightly better but hard to tell as stressed and depressed as I have been with this onslaught

Cons:

Hair got oilier and started falling out
Noticed a strange oily smell to my skin and hair
Caused worst acne breakout of my life

I am a 28 yo female who has only experienced one episode of acne before in my life. Two years ago I was put on oral steroids for an adrenal issue which caused moderately severe acne while taking it for a year. I weaned off of that and at the same time started using epiduo prescribed by a derm. My face cleared up beautifully and was clear for a year until two months ago something happened. I started taking cod liver oil capsules (one daily) and developed some cysts on my chin. No biggie, strange, but I figured they would go away. As my skin progressively got worse I went to a naturopath to get some help. she gave me a stronger dose of liquid cod liver oil and I began taking that 6 weeks ago. I have NEVER had such bad acne in my entire life. Period. It is awful, 6 to ten new red inflamed pustules every other day. After reading all of these reviews I can only assume that this is the culprit, i stopped taking the oil three days ago and am praying that this goes away soon. I know this is long and too detailed, sorry, it's my first ever post on here.

Pros:

I can definitely see a difference in my skin when I decide to take a pill.
My skin is way more peachy and even and looks healthier and not at all dull.

Cons:

None

I use the brand from Walmart that's a mixture of Fish, Flax, and Borage fatty oils.

Pros:

Miracle for my skin. No more cysts, blackheads gone. Not overly oily. Redness is gone

Cons:

None

I've had terrible acne and oily skin for around 4 years Ive tried EVERYTHING then one day I decided I was doing to much and everything I had been doing to my face was so unnatural it couldn't be good. So I stopped using strong face washes retin A and antibiotics and within a week and a half my skin looks 100x better!! I'm now taking 1000 mg tablets of fish oil twice a day 2 at a time along with a natural face wash that includes jojoba and castor oil.

Pros:

skin less oily (not dry either, even in upstate NY weather), red marks/hyper-pigmentation is noticeably fading, no more new acne!

Cons:

well, there is some new acne -- but while I usually get nasty pimples that leave horrible marks on my cheeks, I have had ZERO!! I have gotten a pimple here and there (although, it is that time of the month) but they are much less scary

About a year and a half ago I went through a "eat a tuna wrap everyday" phase, which lasted about 4 months -- my skin was at its absolute best, but I just assumed it was because I was eating better in general. Once I got to college I stopped the whole tuna thing and my skin got progressively worse. I never thought it was the tuna though! It took me about a year to realize, after reading these fish oil reviews, that THAT was a major contributor to my clear skin. About two weeks ago I started taking three fish oil pills a day (2 in the morning, 1 at night). Now, I also take 1 multivitamin a day and 1 Vitex morning and night. I'm a big fan of supplements and holistic medicine, so I am loving this natural route to (hopefully) cure my acne.

Pros:

Works pretty well

Cons:

You need to take lots

I was moving and had a huge bottle of fish oils pills. I decided to take 8-10 of them a day just to get rid of them since I didn't want to pack them and have them melt in the hot summer. They really did help clear my face when nothing else was working. However, when I just take the dosage of 1-4 pills that the bottle says to take, it doesn't work. So, I guess I really need a lot of anti-inflammatory! It's expensive to take that many, but at least they are a healthy supplement. Try taking a double or triple dosage if the smaller dosage isn't working for you.

I have been battling acne my whole life. I have tried everything and nothing has really worked. I am 37 and still struggling. I have been eating very healthy and exercising and still breaking out heavily. I began the fish oil and was surprised at how well it has cleared up my skin. I have not ever had such good results.

I am 26 years old. I have had pimples forever!!!!!! and I've tried EVERYTHING plus I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide so I started taking fish oil. I'm not going to say my skin is PERFECT but it has cleared up sooooooooo much within the first week of usage. Just try it! It has other great benefits too so it can't hurt.
