Extremely effective when used properly!

Pros:

Fades marks pretty fast when used consistently, I wouldn't use this treatment every night as your skin is going to need a break, but I recommend leaving it on overnight 2-3 times a week. Just make sure to follow with a good moisturizer. (Again, olive oil guys, freaking miracles.)
Cheap and easy to find in the fridge when you're a broke teenager! One lemon should last you a pretty long time too, at least 2-3 weeks. If you are using it faster than that you are using way too much. Make sure your preserve your lemons and wrap em up!
Everything is natural! There's something about using natural products to help better my skin that makes me so happy! You don't have to worry about weird chemicals and questionable ingredients.

Cons:

Skin will become more sensitive to sun. MAKE SURE to wear sunscreen, though you should be wearing sunscreen everyday if you have red marks anyways! I recommend finding either a moisturizer or makeup you like with SPF, but most importantly using a sunscreen that is ultra sheer. This means no oily sunscreen skin! Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunscreen in 40 is what I use and it's fabulous.
Skin irritation during use. This is completely normal and to be expected, but if it becomes unbearable wash it off and try using an even smaller amount next time. If it continues try taking a very very small amount of olive oil and mixing lemon into it, then dabbing it onto your marks. This shouldn't dry/irritate your skin.
This will irritate active pimples/cysts! This is why the Q-tip is so helpful, make sure to avoid putting lemon on anything active as you will piss it off!

This is where the saying a little goes a long way comes into play. Lemon juice has been the most beneficial method I've tried by FAR with my acne scarring, but you must use it with care. You do not need the whole or even half of the lemon for this routine! When I first started using lemon 2 years ago I made a big mistake by slapping too much of it on. This is extremely strong stuff, so we are only using a very small amount per use. Here's how I do it. You will need: A lemon Saran wrap (for storing the lemon) A Q-tip Take your lemon and cut it in half. Now, take your Q-tip and just dip it into on of the lemons ridges. Don't be shy to get the end of the Q-tip fairly coated, this is where you can be generous with the amount of lemon you use. Now you can just dab the lemon onto all of your problem areas with ease. The problem people make is they cover their whole face with lemon, when that's completely unnecessary. Not only are you going to be drying out your entire face, you are bleaching the whole thing too making the process of lightening your scars slower. You must also be sure that the marks you are treating are not ACTIVE. Active acne is not something you wanna put lemon on, at least from my experience. You should only be putting the lemon on the marks that are completely healed. Tips: I find exfoliating before doing this to be helpful. Burning is to be expected, though the burning should be reduced since you are only applying it with the Q-tip. The duration of time you leave this treatment on is up to you, personally I go to sleep with it on and find that works very well. I use olive oil for any dry skin after this treatment, and it works wonders. It does not break me out in the slightest. It's also important to note that I have very sensitive skin, and this routine does not cause redness nor break me out! Irritation during the lemon is normal if you are just starting to use it, but redness in your face will not last after you wash it off. My marks are about 60% gone after 2 months of using it about three times a week. Obviously this isn't going to be an absolute miracle worker but I'm very pleased with the results and as we all know it's a long and emotional journey to having clear skin! Good luck everyone!

Pros:

Clears acne
Clears scars
Cheap
Good for you

Cons:

Bad for teeth (drink through straw)
Not the best tasting

Lemon juice is amazing! I can't believe I didn't try this before. I've suffered from acne since I was 15. I'm 22 now. I had a huge breakout all over my face about a week ago. I tried everything to get rid of it. I decided to try lemon juice after reading about it on this site. It's been about a week and I can't remember the last time my face was this clear. My scars are going away too. What I do is drink two cups of lemon juice diluted in water a day and also apply it on my acne after a shower

So i decided to take the natural route! I decided to give lemons a chance! it was easy and quick, at first when i set it on my skin i saw nooo results, then an hour later (now) my skin isn't irritated looking, and my pimples look healthy. this is only after the VERY FIRST USE!!!! oh my god i am so excited to use this and the tea tree oil. Pros:

-smells great
-leaves skin feeling clean
-no artificial chemicals
-all natural (obviously)
-lightens any scarring

Cons:

-stings a smidge when you first put it on, but no big deal

I <3 LEMONS. Seriously. One of the most effective methods I have used so far. I've tried Proactiv, I've had prescription topical stuff, you name it. I've only been using this for three days now and I can already notice a significant difference in my skin. The purple-ish spots left over from particularly ornery zits are lighter, existing acne has lessened, I haven't had any new spots, nothing. My overall skin tone has improved as well. Highly, highly recommend giving this a shot. How I do it is cut up a lemon into 4 sections, take one of the sections and rub it around my face, take another one of the sections and squeeze it into a cup of water to drink (refreshing and good for you), and store the remaining two sections. I usually do this in the afternoon. Bottom line: Lemons are your friend! Use them. Love them.

Pros:

Cheap and easy to use. It worked.

Cons:

Stings a little.

I haven't tried this all over my face, but I have used it on spots that have just popped and are still open, sore or maybe bleeding. It stings a little, but very quickly and cleanly closes the wound. I now just have neat, little scabs rather than big sore spots. They seem to be healing quickly as well.

Pros:

-leaves face feeling fresh&clean
-lightens acne scars
-reduces acne

Cons:

-will sting if you have any open cuts/recently popped acne

i actually don't just use the lemon, i mix it with green tea and make it into a mask. I then leave that on for 10-15 min and wash it off. The green tea kind of acts like an exfoliate and removes all your dead skin cells. Your skin will be a little red right after but then that will go away after a while, i suggest you do this at night. - i love this :)

Pros:

Cheap and available pretty much everywhere

Cons:

Stings, you feel weird sneaking produce in the bathroom. Can be messy.

I had tried this before but was reminded of it while watching Kandee Johnson the makeup artist on Youtube. She "claims" to not have been born with perfect skin, but if you see her you will roll your eyes because her skin is perfect. At any rate I thought I'd give it a try. She suggested using lemon juice and sugar as a scrub. I used a very small amount of non-iodized sea salt and scrubbed gently. It's important to note that I have oily, resistant skin, meaning my skin can handle a harsh scrub now and then. If you are sensitive you should forgo the salt or sugar. The most noteable thing about the lemon juice treatment is that my scars and redness were significantly diminished. This is also good for fine lines and sun spots. But since it contains such a high amount of AHA use sparingly or you could exacerbate the acne you have by irritating your skin. Its also important to rinse it off thoroughly as the fruit can leave a sticky film on your skin, which is a virtual dirt magnet - not good before plopping down on a pillow all night and rolling around in dead skin cells.

Pros:

-Clears skin from acne
-Clears scars
-Cheap
-Clears redness
-Natural

Cons:

-Stings
-Itches
-BURNS

I suffered from acne for years! & I've tried everything! I used to search the net for ideas on how to reduce acne, but nothing seemed to work. I also tried toothpaste, but it didn't clear out my acne.. all it did was reduce redness.. The only thing that I found quite amazing was really pricey, since the doctor advised it to me. I tried lemons a while back, but not with the natural, with the ones you find in a bottle. It worked a little bit, but nowhere as much as it did with natural lemons. It stings when you apply it, and it itches.. it really burns! But only for a few seconds. I wash my face with oil-free products, then use lemons, leave it on for a couple of minutes, then take it off with some water. Then I put some pimple cream (If I have to) & I'm done. I only do this once a day, and it works great! In the morning, after my very first apply, my face was already pretty cleared up. You can notice the difference in redness as well, although, at first it may become more red since lemon burns, after a while the redness fades away. What I really love about lemon, except that it's the only thing that worked this good on my acne, it's that it's all natural and really cheap. Give it a try guys.. it's really amazing!
