Pros:

breasts got bigger, skin cleared up alot on face, chest and back, periods lasted less and were less painful and heavy.

Cons:

weight gain, some mood swings at the start nothing major.

the only thing i dont like about dianette is the weight gain. my appetite has increased alot but hopefully now ive noticed i can work it off. also at first i noticed i was having alot of mood swings but nothing major like depression or anything. as for my acne my face cleared up well after the first month and is improving. my chest had one bad breakout at first but made a massive recovery and now is amazing. back was probably the worst so is taking a little more time to get better but im optimistic about it. i would recommend this pill.

Pros:

absolutely amazing!!!! had loads of spots, went on diannette-stuck with it for tw months ish before it kicked in- have had no spots for 3 years-

Cons:

i came off it and my spots came back!!!!!here's what i do to keep them at bay....no contraceptive pill..perscription of Dalacin T topical solution(the lotion sucks)...easy to get, just ask your doctor. Then i brought 'panoxyl' (£3 online) really gr8

oh if you get spots on your chest/ back i find just daily wash with soap(not shower gel) sorts these.i recommend diannnette despite the worse spots afterwards- was worth the years of freedom and perfect skin!!!! i really recommend panoxyl cream- dries spot right up!!!!!!

Pros:

On my 4th month of Dianette now, but everything is still the same : (

Cons:

skin is still the same, do get sore breasts but no increase in size (would have been a plus for me)

Been on it for nearly 4 months now, havnt seen any improvement at all. Stil have the same acne i started off with. After reading all the comments seems like everyones had postive results in short amount of time apart from me. Breasts do get sore sometimes, but no increase in size. Just feel like giving up now, after trying so many things Dianette was my last attempt to clear my acne. I jus seem to be very unlucky nothing works on me : (

Pros:

Gave me beautiful clear, non oily skin. Free on the NHS, easy to take, doubles up as contraception.

Cons:

Drs make you come off it after a while. Eventually between my use of this pill and Yasmin I developed lots of side effects - non existent sex drive, night sweats, hot flashes, dry eyes, dry/brittle hair - basically menopausal/aging symptoms (aged 21)

10 months ago I stopped using Dianette after 6 years of on-off use (frequent use for about a year at a time each time), apart from my dry eyes (which are still present but have improved) the other horrible side effects have long gone. My regular periods returned straight away also. However, unfortunately....gradually my acne has returned too and has been getting me down again these past few months. It's a bitch...you can play around with synthetic hormones to block the hormone that is giving you oily skin and acne but you need this hormone for other things. Dianettes' eostrogen levels are too high and of course it blocks androgens (which we do need) just not to the extent that they cause us to suffer from acne. Apparently I can't have it all - I can either choose to look sexy without the ability to enjoy or care about sex OR I can enjoy and desire sex and not look sexy...grr.

Pros:

Works brilliantly!!! And because it is so effective (the best acne treatments for girls) it boosts your confidence and you feel like a different person.

Cons:

It can cause blood clots, and has, as far as I am aware, only a 2-year licence.

I am now 25 and used to have horrific facial acne. I have taken Dianette on and off since I was 15, and it is the best acne treatement. It is wonderful!! Many of my friends have taken it and we all think it is brilliant. Antibiotics do not work and can make things worse. Benzoyl peroxide burns the skin, and Retin A is terrible. Dianette is the best treatment, and it should be used in combination with products containing Salicylic Acid. Origins do an amazing face mask containing this that is well worth its price tag!! Also cream washes containing the above acid, used twice daily, with a good (unfragranced) moisturiser are also essential. Avoid moisturiser at night. Cream washes ensure your face isnt dried out so this can be done.

Pros:

My skin became less greasy almost immediately, and after a few months there was noticably improvement in my acne

Cons:

I became more emotional on this pill, and suffered from mild nausea

This pill had a greater affect on my skin than anything else I've tried, including several different antibiotics. I was on this pill for about 5 years to begin with. My skin improved noticably at first, but I came off it because it began to have a big effect on my mood, and my acne had deteriorated. However, upon stopping dianette my acne became much worse than it had ever been. I had large cyst like spots, even in places where I hadn't previously had acne. I tried other treatments but when they failed to work I went back on to dianette. My skin has much improved again. I am just concerned as to whether I will ever be able to come off it - as I am well aware of the health risks.

Pros:

big boobs!! much clearer skin after 3 months...which lead to more self confidence, not time consuming to use unlike creams, and of course its a contraceptive!

Cons:

first couple of periods i had on it were heavier and painful (i never had period pains) - however these have started to go so no longer a problem for me! occasionaly get emotiongal at small things (eg. tv documentary!! =O!)

great! however you do need the will power to get through the first few months where you may get bad side effects which for me went.

Pros:

Clear skin, no period pains(and i used to get killer ones), i could tell nearly by the hour when my period was due and my periods were lighter. i also noticed an increase in my bust size! Overall increase in confidence!

Cons:

Only came off dianette because i noticed it make me a bit emotional. Nothing serious, just home sick after my first week of being away from home, when usually I'd never get home sick

Would definately recommend this product. However 2months on after stopping taking it and I'm after getting 2 or 3 spots which is annoying since for the last year and a half i've had none! Thinking of trying to maintain a better diet and maybe take a vitamin b5 supplement to solve that problem this time. I'm back to my old bust size but happy to say that throughout my course of taking dianette I've maintained my weight as normal, havent had to deal with headackes or mirgraines, didnt notice any mood swings.. I'm the same as ever really!

Pros:

Clear skin, increased confidence, emotionally balanced.

Cons:

I have not really experienced any downsides to Dianette. So far everything has been very positive for me.

Dianette has worked very well for me and I have experienced no downsides to using this pill. At this stage I could not face going back to the way I was, greasy hair, face neck back chest and upper arms destroyed with painful spots. I never went out and only started dating when I was 25. Iam now 28 and as I dont want children in the future, I envisage no problems with continuing to use Dianette.

Pros:

...

Cons:

less oily skin.

So i started Dianette about 2 months ago. Looking back at my skin before i started taking it, it really wasn't that bad. But now i have got two majour breakouts. Unable to leave the house during these. At the moment, im on my seven day break after two packets. My skin has been less shiney. I went back to my doctor after the second breakout, and was told it was to get worse before better. So i got a topical cream to clear up the breakout and has been working great the past days. Only problem is, i have red marks from the breakout which look like spots and arent dissapearing. I tried using scar cream for a week but made no difference. Reading what other people wrote, im going to continue using dianette for another two months and hopefully i will see a bigger improvement.
