Plexion no longer accepted by insurance, my dermatologists recommended trying $9 Sulfur Soap 10% by Joesoef Skin Care this soap is anti bacterial, anti fungal and antiseptic and it works. its available online [link removed] for best results use warm water and work the soap into a rich foamy lather, allow 60 seconds before rinse. This soap is 100% effective for Acne, All Dermatitis, Rosacea, fungus, Bacteria, Tinea Versicolor and more. a must try $9 alternative....So glad i found this soap

Pros:

Works really well. I have tried so many topicals (Differin, Tazorac, Klaron lotion, retin-a, proactive) and so far this works the best. It does not dry out my skin, or leave it feeling greasy. It also does not cause redness which is a problem that I've had with other topicals. I use this in conjunction with keflex and so far so good. Hopefully this will save me from having to use accutane

Cons:

Smells bad (doesn't bother me that much), expensive even with insurance. Pharamacist told me that a lot of insurances do not cover it.

Would recommend highly. If moderate to severe acne, best to use in conjunction with either an antibiotic or birth control pill if acne is hormonally influenced.

Plexion is back.
For those that remember it was discontinued a couple of years ago. I've just got my prescription from my doctor. The pharmacy had to order it. 20 bucks co-pay. They have a new website Plexion-info.

Pros:

I have never use anything like this before you begin to see results in just matter of days...My skin was an even tone and i received compliments on my skin

Cons:

Depending on your insurance this product can be expensive...I noticed the price increase twice while using the product...

This is the BEST PRODUCT to resolve skin problems...I just requested another refill on my prescription...I use it twice daily once on the morning and evening oafter my workouts...Three during the week I will actually apply a light facial mask and sleep...the final results will speak volumes

Pros:

Suphera (generic of Plexion) smells great and is a very easy, once-a-day treatment. Keeps skin feeling clean and oil free all day. Doesn't burn or irritate my face in any way. Also, because it contains no bezoyl peroxide, clothing doesn't stain.

Cons:

None.

This is an amazing medication and I highly recommend it to anyone who has had trouble with benzoyl peroxide based medication or if you have sensitive skin. My acne is caused by shaving and I've had very few issues since using Suphera. On another note, I've read several reviews that say this medication is being used in conjunction with other meds. This could be a reason for not seeing results. Too much medication can dry out and irritate the skin. Unless you have very severe acne, a single prescription strength treatment should present good results.

Pros:

Works wonders on rosacia.

Cons:

None...just keep it away from your eyes.

I suffered from rosacia my entire adult life: red, itchy and scaly skin. Tried everything, only steroids worked. And, not for long. Plexion has been a miracle, finally have normal skin "just like everyone else." I can't recommend it enough.

Pros:

A good cleanser for taking off makeup
Made my skin feel clean
Good packaging
Lathers well

Cons:

Smell bad (sulfury)

I used the cleansing cloth version of this and really liked it while I was on it. Used with differin gel and minocycline (on and off). The cloths were packaged well and I usually tore them in half and got 2 uses out of them. They lathered really well and were great for taking off my makeup. They always made my skin feel clean and I feel like they did a good job of getting rid of excess oil. Only con is that they reeked of sulfur (which of course is an active ingredient))!

Pros:

Plexion is GREAT! Makes my skin very soft and smooth and cleared acne almost immediately. I have not had this good of luck with any other product - prescription or over-the-counter.

Cons:

Skin was dry and flaky (nothing extreme) for first 2 weeks. I was using twice daily and still continue to do so. No dryness now. Pricey - my copay is $65, but 12 oz seems to last for quite a while. Smell isn't awesome, but not terrible either.

Pros outweigh cons significantly. Plexion cleared my face beautifully. I hope it continues to work. I have noticed that if I do not use it in the a.m., then by that evening I can see some small bumps forming - but after washing in the evening it seems clear again. It's worth a shot!

I've used the cleanser for years and I only break out when I forget to use it. Leave it on for about 30 sec. and you can really feel it drying up your zits. Does leave your skin feeling tight but in a very clean sort of way. I can follow up with a moisturizure and not worry about my skin getting too oily. Works better at preventing new breakouts than anything (short of accutane) I've ever tried! The name brand doesn't smell quite so strongly of sulfur as the generic, I've noticed.
