Pros:

it clears acne, leaves skin soft, helps eczema improve ALOT

Cons:

leaves a slight residue

I have been suffering from acne and eczema for about 25 years now and I have tried a lot of OTC medications but all of them either made my eczema worse or my acne worse so I decided to give coconut oil a try afer hearing about it from a friend. It leaves my skin smooth for the whole day and my acne is gone, spare the occasional small whitehead. It is GREAT!!!

Pros:

moisturizes, light weight, cheap

Cons:

none

after researching coconut oil, i decided to give it a try. I bought unrefined virgin coconut oil by the brand NOW from GNC. I also bought a bottle of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar which I use as a toner before the oil. I had only been using this combination for 2 days but I can seriously see a difference and I hope that it continues this way. My skin wasn't so blotchy as before. I will continue to use both of these ingredients every night because so far its working great

Pros:

Sinks right into the skin--better than jojoba does, for me. Super-moisturizing and healing without being greasy.

Cons:

Not for use during the day, because it starts to smell kind of gross by the end of the day. Also it's too heavy unless it's winter or you have much dryer skin than mine. Sometimes gives me a couple whiteheads in the morning, but not usually.

ONLY use unrefined/virgin coconut oil!!! It may seem a little more expensive but considering that it's sold in jars sized for cooking, it's still INCREDIBLY cheap if you use it on your skin. And the refined oil is worthless for skincare. I put a generous amount on at night, give it a minute to sink in, then pat off the excess with a towel. It's so cheap that I can use a lot and not pull at my skin too much.

Pros:

THE COCONUT OIL IS TAKING AWAY MY ACNE SCARS I'VE ONLY BEEN USING THIS FOR A WEEK.

Cons:

IF YOU PUT THE OIL ON THE OILY PART OF YOUR SKIN YOU MIGHT BREAK OUT

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING NOTHING ELSE WORKED SO FAR EXCEPT THIS I'M GOING TO KEEP USING THIS AND LET YOU KNOW IN 30DAYS IF I STILL HAVE MY SCARS YOU CAN GET A SAMPLE FOR 2.50 [link removed]

The BEST I've tried so far
I can't say enough good things about coconut oil. I've looked and looked for something that would help me and I can honestly say that I wish I would have tried it earlier. I only use a little bit at night and I wake up with glowing skin. I occasionally have a pimple here and there when my hormones are acting up but it's rare nowadays. The best thing about it is that it's cheap and effective. I brought a jar at Walmart and it lasts a very, very long time cause a little goes a long way.

Brilliant
My skin changes with the seasons. In summer it's fine, not too dry and not too oily, in autumn/spring the texture is off and is oily in my t-zone and dry on my cheeks (that's where I used to have cysts), in winter my skin is oily af. Coconut oil tricks my skin into believing that it doesn't need to produce oil, thus my skin is moisturized but not oily. It's great for oil clensing, but it only works for a few people, if it makes you breakout don't use it. I have also used coconut oil after sunburn and after dermarolling (because the pain is very similar) and it really sooths the skin and leaves it soft and smooth.

Pros:

Coconut oil has improved my skin's texture tremendously :]
i love itt

Cons:

none rlly. other than you have to be patient and willing.

I'd definately say that this was worth the price. After trying basicaly [almost] every brand you can buy over the counter, i decided to swich to something natural. Ive always been buying harsh benzyl peroxide products that would only get rid of some pimples...[the big ones that HurT]...Now- I have light acne, but alot of red marks left by old acne. >:-[ ...coconut oil has really made them look alot smoother. i also had somewhat visible (large} pores on my cheecks near my nose area only. and after only using coconut oil [as my moisturizer] and water, my pores are alot smaller :-] [those holes arent there anymore!] - I am going to start the OCM (oil cleansing method) {['google it' if u're interested}] soon.b/c after seeing good results from using oils for the first time, i think it'll be the only thing ill use from now on..i really feel good about using natural based products on my skin- iTs worth the try if you havent alreaddy... try searching 'essential oils for acne/skin' gO0d L

Does a coconut oil review even need words?
I use Organic virgin coconut oil for EVERYTHING. - Skin and hair moisturiser. - Part of my homemade hair conditioner. - Cooking and baking. - I supplement with 1 teaspoon daily as it is has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

discipline required
My particular brand of coconut oil has a line on it saying "Take one tablespoon per day or as instructed by your practitioner" which is how I discovered that I love eating coconut oil so much I have literally eaten it until I've been sick. I can't open the jar without eating it. This is bad because it is essentially a jar of fat. It's a pretty good moisturizer but too oily for my hair. Also it's delicious. Time will yet tell if it's any good (internally or not) for clearing/preventing acne
