I've never really dealt with major acne on my face, if any, minor blemishes; I've just found honey to be one way to keep my skin healthy. Honey is an amazing almost endless remedy for many problems body related. But here's the thing, just because you see a bottle at the supermarket that says honey on it, doesn't mean it's real honey, infact many are referred to as honey "sauce". My dad is a beekeeper so we have our own local pure honey company which means I know a lot about how the honey business works. The only way you know your honey is all natural and raw (which means it is also organic) is if you directly buy it from a local honey farm/beekeeper, or farmer's market. What's the difference? Honey from a beekeeper is directly jared after extraction from the hive. Honey that is sold to honey companies that sell their honey in supermarkets, is processed with preservatives and has corn syrup added to it to maintain its liquid state and shelf life. Pure honey crystalizes (hardens to become crystal-like); this doesn't mean the honey has gone bad which many people think. All you have to do is put the jar/container in a bowl of warm water, or leave it out in the sun for a little bit and it will turn liquid once again. Processed honey will never crystalize because of the preservatives. The reason honey is so good for the skin and illnesses, is because of all the vitamins and nutrients it contains. When honey companies process their honey at extremely high temperatures, pretty much all the nutrients and vitamins are killed off. So you really want to make sure you're using pure honey on your face, otherwise you're basically just using sugar.

Pros:

The best and its natural

Cons:

None that I can think of. Mix it with 1 tsp of cinnamon and it wont be as messy.

Use manuka honey about 5x more expensive then regular honey but works 20x better.

Pros:

Tastes good!

Cons:

messy to deal with if you are not using in the shower. You have to be careful not to get it in your hair or on clothes.... or the bathroom counter.

After 3 days of washing my face with this stuff 2x a day and using it as a mask 1x a day I had no more whiteheads and all my acne was drying up and much less red. However I have been using it for a week now and have not noticed any improvement with blackheads, but I definately do not have anymore zits or pimples.

Pros:

Reduces pimples
Reduces redness
Cheap, using household items
Leaves skin soft
Comes off skin very easily
Completely natural
(You can eat it if you desire) :D

Cons:

EXTREMELY messy
Itches
Leaves skin a tad irritable and red for close to a half hour (I would recommend doing a facial at night)

I have been getting really into facials and household remedies that will keep my skin soft and most importantly help with my light acne. I have given myself a lot of oatmeal facials, but they tend to be thick and messy, and I have a hard time getting them off. (They can help skin tremendously, though.) I have heard honey is great for clearing skin, so I decided to give that a try. I melted honey and added a teaspoon of cinnamon and a few drops of lemon juice. The problem with the cinnamon is that it makes quite a huge mess and turns the mask an ugly color that might stain if it gets onto a material. Melting the honey makes it drip and made quite a mess for me. BOTTOM LINE: I would NOT melt the honey and would add some lemon juice to get a thinner consistency to help make applying or removing the mask easier. Tie your hair back and wear a ratty shirt either way (in case of accidental dripping). Leave the facial on for fifteen minutes and then scrub clean with a damp washcloth. Rinse simply with cold water to cleanse. You will not regret using this facial mask because it softens skin, reduces redness, and really decreases the amount of pimples you have OVERNIGHT. The ingredients are very simple, and even if all you have is honey, it works wonders by itself.

Pros:

*lessens redness
*moisturizes
*leaves skin soft and with a bit of a glow
*helps fight acne(to a degree)
*repairs skins appearance
*tastes great :D

Cons:

*a bit messy

I've been using honey for almost 2 months now and have included it as apart of my daily skin regimen because I love it that much. It really helps with redness, though it's not a miracle cure and wont fade red spots overnight. I have fair skin and after damaging it with different acne products, searching for something right, my skin would turn very red, looking almost like a chemical burn. It was raw and bad! A little honey morning and night, helped repair my skin to it's natural tone and texture. I use it in the morning and if I have time leave it on for 40mins-1hour, if not I'll leave it on for 15 mins just to take a bit of redness out of my skin. I wash it off and go about the rest of my skin routine. I do the same at night. I do this everyday because the honey doesn't irritate the skin. It's gentle and messy and my skin loves it. I use the cheap grocery store stuff but the more organic and higher the UMF apparently the better the honey and the better it'll work, though it can be pricey. I'm on Dan's Regimen again and am in my second week, and the honey really helped with my bad redness. I highly recommend this! It's not an end all to acne but it helps and I love using it with my daily regimen. But you have to be patient with it, as it helps the skins appearance over time.

-prevent pimples from coming
-skin feels soft
-natural glow to the skin
-easy to use
- cheap
-smells good

Cons:

-its not so sticky for me just a little

using honey for acne is so simple this is what i do every night: things you need - honey...1 tablespoon -cinnamon...1 teaspoon -lemon juice...about 1/4 of a teaspoon or just a few drops ( i use unpasturized clover honey) (note:many people say to use raw honey, i'm using clover honey because it works best for me) What to do: 1) put the honey in the bowl an microwave it for about 10 seconds or until melted 2)add the cinnamon and lemon juice 3) wash your face with warm water to open you pores. 4) apply the mixture to you face.since i add in cinnamon the honey will stick on your face better. 5) leave on for at least 15 min. 6)put a washcloth under cold water and squeeze out all the extra. 7) take the honey off gently with the cold washcloth 8) pat dry your face and your done the honey and be a little bit hard to take off with a cold washcloth but it works better because the honey will be inside your pores instead of out i use this every night and i stared seeing results in two days!

Pros:

Leaves skin soft, smoother texture.. takes away irritation

Cons:

A bit sticky and messy, but that's all right

My skin has gotten a little red and raw due to Retin-A cream use.. as expected from the treatment.. so I thought I'll take a break from it to try to reduce the irritation. I read great reviews about the honey mask so I decided to try it. Mixed pure honey with cinnamon and left it on my face for an hour... when I wash it off, the irritation and redness that was caused by the Retin-A was gone.. and my skin feels smooth. All the peeled off skin were washed off.. and my skin's complexion looks better :) I'm going to take a break from Retin-A for 3-4 days before starting it again.. In the mean time, it's the honey mask for me :)

--SOFTER SKIN
--BRIGHTER SKIN
--MORE EVEN COMPLEXION
--HEALTHY GLOW
--RED REDUCING
--CALMS YOUR FACE

Cons:

--MESSY IF YOU USE TOO MUCH
-STICKY IF NOT COMPLETELY WASHED OFF

I absolutely love honey. I came across an article online about this remedy. I'm so glad to have found it. I feel so silly bringing honey into the restroom, but the results are so worth it. Check it out, this is all I do: Put enough to coat my entire face, leave it on for 15 mins (I usually watch tv to pass the time), and then I rinse it off. That's all! I love how it's so easy to rinse off, too. You'd think it would be a mess but it's not at all. If you put too much on your face then it becomes runny and drips--just apply a thin layer and let it absorb. I don't know about these other people who sleep with it on, that sounds way messy, and talk about sticky pillow cases. Just do this daily and you'll be happy with the results. I am.

I haven't tried this yet, but i notice ALOT of reviews are complaining about the honey dripping when it warms up to body temperature. The simple fix is to put a piece of single ply, cheap toilet paper over after you apply the honey. I've done this with other homemade masks and it works great. Yes, you will look stupid, but you'll be able to DO things, instead of just lying still. I would say thing is best if you are just treating sections of your face (like the forehead or individual bumps), but you can do your whole face, too.
