Pros:

Natural moisturizer. Inexpensive.

Cons:

As with most things, it's not for everyone.

I spoke with my Derm regarding jojoba oil. She told me that it is slightly comedogenic. Most people can tolerate it, but those with super oily or extra sensitive skin may have problems. So, if you want to try it, apply it to a small area first, NOT your whole face. Try it out on that area for a good 3 to 4 weeks and if you're not breaking out then you can use it all over. It's a good method for trying all new products on acne prone skin. We're all different and it takes time to know what things work for you specifically. I personally can't use it without my chin and cheeks breaking out, but it may be fine for you.

Pros:

love the feel of it on the skin
natural
good for the skin- hydration
stop skin from drying

Cons:

breakout???? Hard to pin point cause
slightly shiny on skin - which although doesnt really bover me however hard to apply makeup over this

Well... I started using jojoba oil about a week or two ago due to bp and tea tree oil really drying my skin making it feel so dry and tight I tried buying a moisturisers meant for very dry skin although this helped it didnt solve the problem. My acne however was improving at this stage quite a lot ( maybe be due to the tetracyline kicking in- who knows tbh). However I didnt think these products were exactly helping my skin in the long run so i decided to get jojoba oil after hearing some pretty good reviews and the fact dan recommends it. What I did after applying tea tree and bp to acne i added 2 drops of jojoba oil for every pea size of my moisturiser i used. Know after doing so i found acne on my forehead appeared, round the nose and slight worsening of acne on cheeks mainly whiteheads which i had never really come across before. Know im not sure whether that was my skin getting use to the oil (well wax really) and that it needed time. The thing is that it made my skin FEEL great not tight at all which i really liked however just not to sure on the looking great part. The werid thing is i also broke on my chest with white heads which had never happened however i dont use it on that area with really confuses me So am kinda not sure what to do with the stuff 1) stop using it 2) maybe use less 3) combine with a oil free mosturier (which i was previously using until my skin went dry) 4) add another oil to it (which id rather not do as im using enough products as it is). Its so stressful i really wanted to get clear for xmas so i really dont know what to do :/ keep with it or stop. Id certainly give it ago to be honest .Good luck guys!! BTW email is e-nicol@[link removed] if anyone has any suggestions :)

Pros:

Smoothens and removes flakiness on your skin, shiny hair, removes dead skin cells, easy to apply, and glowing skin.

Cons:

If you put too much on your face, it will become so shiney and greasy. It is so expensive. One bottle cost me Php 999 thats more or less $20.00.

I recommend using this product to all people who has dry/oily skin but not with those have sensitive skin - varies on each individuals. I have a very oily skin and this product didn't break me out or made my skin more oily. It's just so expensive but worth it. Just give it a try even just for a week, if it would break you out then stop it and just you it on your hair or on your body.

Pros:

chances of irritation are very small
great moisturizer
not toxic like some essential oils
a little goes a long way

Cons:

can sting and itch a bit
somehow never absorbs fully when used with BP

I am using jojoba oil as a moisturizer. The first few weeks I felt a lot of stinging after applying it... the itchiness occasionally occurs again but not as intense. If I apply it straight after cleansing. When I don't use BP it seems to leave less oily residue on my skin... this might of course just be my skin! I think you need to use a tiny amount in order to let the skin fully absorb it

Pros:

Perfectly balanced my skin's moisture
Moisturizes dry hair
Softens hands and cuticles
Absorbs in and doesn't feel greasy

Cons:

Made me breakout worse than EVER before

I bought this product after reading endless pages of reviews on this website. Whenever i came across someone who said "it made me breakout" I would tell myself that they must be doing something else that made them breakout, because this stuff isn't supposed to do that. So here is what happened with me: I have skin I would classify as dry, super sensitive, and acne prone. The only thing that ever kept my face clear was differin gel (retin-a) but my insurance stopped covering it and it costs me $200 a tube now. So I switched back to clean and clear salicyclic acid, which was working okay but I still had mild-to-moderate breakouts (I didn't do BP because my skin reacts horribly with it). Then I discovered dessert essence. I purchased tea tree oil (kinder to skin) and diluted it down to 5%, and purchased 100% pure jojoba oil. I would use the oil morning and night, sometimes mixed with a little tea tree oil, and was loving it. However, my breakouts went from mild/moderate to moderate/severe, which I figured was of course the purging period. Well after about a month and a half, I bit the bullet and purchased differin again. It makes my skin super dry and sensitive, so I continued to use the jojoba oil as my moisturizer. My acne slightly cleared up again, but never back to where I wanted it. Well one weekend I went to visit my parents and accidentally left both the differin and jojoba oil at their house. I had to go without for a week, so I used my tea tree oil mixed into my old moisturizing cream and surprise, my skin ENTIRELY cleared up. The moral of the story? Jojoba oil made my skin far worse than ever before, particularly when it comes to those large red pimples with giant white heads in them that are impossible to hide. I have never had more than one at a time previously and would have like 7 or 8 at a time with the oil. I now use the dessert essence thoroughly clean face line and my dryness, sensitivity, and acne a

Pros:

great for use on hair and body

Cons:

clogged my pores resulting in blackheads

I had such high hopes for this one. After the third day I could feel little bumps but I figured I'd persist and give it time. Jojoba oil never broke me out, however it did clog my pores and caused many tiny blackheads to develop. It could be due to the fact that I have HUGE pores and oily skin. Maybe it seeped into my big pores and hardened up? Overall though it seems like it would be a good fit for others. Most oils and creams I put on my face (sunscreens included) break me out. The jojoba oil didn't have that effect and I think that says alot about it. I gave it three stars because it's been working well for me as a beard conditioner and body moisturizer. I've also made some scented body oils by adding patchouli and lavender to small bottles of jojoba. Great gift idea.

How this will work for you depends on your skin type.
I used this for quite a bit - at least 3-4 months, consistently - mixed with my moisturizer at night. Overall it really didn't do much of anything for my skin, acne or scars. My face was still just as oily in the t-zone and just as dry on my chin, so it didn't have the "balancing" effect on oil production that people claim it has (I don't really believe in that anyway...). It didn't make me break out more, but it didn't help either. I didn't like the way it felt on my skin either, it just felt so greasy and sticky. It only absorbed into the dry areas - the oily areas were just grease city. When I would lay down my face would feel sticky on the pillow, even thought I only mixed like 2-3 drops in with the moisturizer. I kept using it because everyone raves about it, but I eventually just stopped using it because it wasn't doing anything except make my face look like an oil sheet before going to bed. I'm much happier just using a regular moisturizer at night. UPDATE April 2017: I would just like to post a bit of an update on this, because the state of my skin has changed dramatically since I posted this. My skin is more normal to dry now, rather than super oily. For my current skin type, jojoba oil works really well. I use it as a moisturizer at night after showering, while my skin is still damp - I mix it with vitamin E oil. It absorbs really nice. So, it honestly depends on the person and the state of your skin. If you have very oily skin, oils aren't going to have any kind of "balancing" effect - they will just make your skin look more oily. So, I don't think people should go in with the expectation that it will magically balance the oil production on your face, because that's not realistic (I learned that the hard way after months of trial and turmoil). But, like I said above, it didn't make anything worse or have a negative effect on my skin. However, if your skin is more normal to dry this oil is a great one to try. I don't know how it would work on it's own, but it works really well when mixed with other oils. It's much more thin than a lot of other oils (like vitamin E which is very thick), so mixing them together makes application a lot easier. Hope this helps whoever reads this!

Pros:

Great moisturizer

Cons:

gave me huge breakouts.

I have had a weird time with this jojoba oil. My first week, I thought it was a miracle product. My skin was very comfortable, soft, had a nice glow and was ot oily at all. Then, by the second week, I strated to break out in tiny little whiteheads. As I had read the reviews, I thought it was only the initial purge people were talking about so I continued using it. In fact I started using it twice a day to get rid of the breakouts faster. By the third week, I was having even more breakouts and my the end of the forth week I had to stop using it because I was having huge, painful bumps that just won't go away. I don't know if it is because I have an allergic reaction to it but I can't say that it did much good for my skin.

don't see anything but soothing skin
I apply jojoba oil on my face before i go to bed with hopeful intention that will reduce residual oil and acnes on it . At first, it causes me few pimples on my cheeks and my chin. i'm very dissapointed but still sticking with it for a while .It does'n help preventing or healing acnes but if you look for a natural moisturising , you've got the great deal

Pros:

- Gets rid of flakes
- Super moisturizing
- Seems to even out skin tone

Cons:

- Using lots can leave skin shiny
- I think I broke out from it :(

I have been on the regimen for a year and working well. For the past three weeks I decided to start using A LOT of jojoba in with Dan's moisturiser morning and evening to see how it worked for me. After a few days I started breaking out a little with papules on my cheeks and some pustules on my chin. These seemed to take ages to heal and by the third week I was still breaking out. I have subsequently stopped using jojoba and my breakouts are subsiding, slowly but surely. Bear in mind I was using LOADS, like 12 drops in with the moisturiser and maybe with this more isn't better, i.e. I may not have broken out if I had only used a couple of drops I don't know! I'm guessing the skin can only absorb so much of the oil put on and the remainder will sit on the surface of the skin and make the skin feel oily. Maybe this extra oil attracts dirt and other airborne contaminates that will sit on the skin and can enter the pores which may have caused my breakout. Just racking my brains as to how something non-comodogenic could have broken me out.
