Pros:

Moisturizing, non-scented, no breakouts.

Cons:

Nothing. Stuff is amazing.

This was recommended to me by a famous dermatologist that treats my acne. He didn't sell me anything from his own line of products after I complained about dryness from the Retinol treatments I was on. I'd never heard of Cerave, but I gave it a whirl. It moisturizes without leaving any film, tackiness, scent, or clogging pours. It's light but moisturizes like a heavier cream would. I use it on my hands because I hate hand cream residue. Right now I'm using it with Kiehl's Blue acne lotion because it's drying. Together, they work wonderfully and it's making it easier for me to stay on the acne treatment.

Pros:

Moisturizes really well
light, fragrance free
doesn't leave your face shiny

Cons:

nothing.

I am currently on accutane so my skin is all peely. I put this on at night and in the morning my face is flake free. It's not greasy unlike the cetaphil face lotion i used to use. It's also very light, it won't make your face shiny. I highly recommend it.

immediate cystic acne/skin rash that was red and irritated beyond belief
by recommendation I purchased this (and stopped using my HG Kheil's wash and lotion) in order to save money. this lotion was okay the first two nights but gave some slight itchiness through the day. by the third day I woke up to 3 whiteheads 2cm wide and redness through the rest of my face. I gave the lotion the benefit of the doubt for 1 week and used it twice a day. NOPE. my skin is the worst it's ever been this year and I will throw this CeraVe lotion away.

amazing loton
I have combinaiton (easily clogged skin) and I use this on my face. I think it is one of the best creams I have ever used. Recently went back on Retin-A for wrinkle reduction and to battle clogged pores. In the past, I have found that the first few weeks on Retin-A are rough: dry, chaffed, peeling, red skin. But this time, I have had no problem b/c I have been using this lotion which is incredibly light but seems to soothe and moisturize exceptionally well. It's also been the dead of winter with extremely low tempatures and my skin doesn't feel dry at all. A-m-a-z-i-n-g and so cheap.

Made me break out everytime
This moisturizer made me break out every time I used it. I was hopeful because of all the positive reviews, but if you are an acne prone teen like me, I would avoid this product. Even Dan reviewed and said it caused acne, so I definitely would not reccomend it.

Pros:

very hydrating
very healing
skin feels significantly stronger and more supple
calms skin treated with harsh ingredients (benzoyl peroxide, retin-a, etc.)

Cons:

pore clogging:
blackheads, whiteheads
oily t-zone

I purchased this product over a month and a half ago, but I only recently realized the negative effects on my skin. First off, I had begun using topical tretinoin cream a few months ago and was looking for a moisturizer that could help replenish my peeling and sensitive skin. I had looked into this for a while and so I finally purchased it. First reactions: I loved it. It did feel slightly heavy at first but my skin was quite dehydrated at the time so I didn't mind. But after the first night I did realize the oiliness in my t-zone, which isn't usually that bad. Regardless though I used it on and off for a couple weeks, trying to find the best routine for myself, without noticing any problems other than oily/greasiness in my t-zone. Bad news: Recently, about 3-4(?) weeks ago, I noticed excessive clogged pores (small white heads) primarily all over my mouth area, slightly on my forehead and in my jaw area. I kept using it though, thinking maybe I was doing something wrong, but it only led to my skin breaking out pretty badly for the first time in quite a while since tretinoin had/has been working for me so well. I will now only use this on my body or on my face if i absolutely HAVE to. Sucks because it was so calming and healing to my sensitive skin. I remember after a single night, the redness caused from tretinoin was almost completely reduced and peeling/dryness was practically gone after a couple nights. My skin looked so supple and hydrated, but then it began to clog my pores so... Conclusion: I would still recommend to this to most people to at least try. It's a fantastic, basic moisturizer that works great. But despite it being 'non-comedo.', it seems to cause breakouts for some people. Give it a shot though. note: I am currently using Alba's aloe, green tea oil free moisturizer, and it's working great so far. No clogs, no oily t-zone, despite it apparently containing comedo. ingredients. Funny how life works...

Pros:

doesn't irritate a 3rd degree sunburn
extremely gentle on skin
helps restore and maintain protective skin barrior
moisturizes the best out of any other lotion i've ever tried
reasonable price for the huge bottle it comes in that lasts forever
available at any convienence store

Cons:

literally none! :-)

to sum it all up, this is probably the hands down BEST moisturizer i've ever used, and let me explain why i think so highly of this product. first of all, about seven days ago i was out on vacation with my family to go snowboarding in the mountians! i typically do the acne.org regiman and my face looks fenominal 95% of the time, with the exception of a small breakout right before my menstration cycle. anyways, the first day we were out on the mountians, i refused to put on sunscreen (for some stupid reason) and as a result, i got a 3rd degree windburn/sunburn that didn't show up on my face until the next day, but when it did, HOLY COW it was the most aweful looking, painful, embarassing thing i've ever had to experience on my face! blisters EVERYWHERE all along my cheecks, chin, and around my lips! all the blisters looked like they just formed together to make one huge blister, and were bright red! and to top it off, my lips were all puffed up and huge! appealing, right? then about five days later the blisters went all down and my face started pealing like no other! so i tried putting gobs and gobs of moisturizer on it, but nothing was strong enough! (oh, and i didn't use BP at all for at least seven days! just wash and moisturize! my skin was dry enough!) so right when we got back from vacation, i ran up to the local pharmacy in search of a miricle on earth to save my poor, beat up face. thank God i stumbled across this product, because literally within three days it saved my face! it moisturized all the dry spots that peeled off the next day, and hydrated the new, soft skin beautifully! my skin is glowing, moisutirized, and feeling healthy again, and i owe it all to this product! i am DEFINATLY keeping this as a staple moisturizer! oh, and it didn't make my typically oily face look discusting! not even remotly! i totally reccomend this to anyone, give it a try! :-)

Pros:

Velvety skin

Cons:

Broke me out

I wanted to love this lotion, but after 2 days of use, I began to get little whiteheads in areas that I don't normally break-out. I stopped using it and my break-out immediately resolved.

Pros:

light weight, moisturizing, unscented, gentle, doesn't break-out skin, absorbs quickly

Cons:

giant bottle, slight initial burning sensation

I love this lotion for my dry, acne prone skin. I tried the Cetaphil lotion, which I heard was gentle. However, it felt like my skin couldn't breathe when I put it on. It didn't absorb very well, and my skin was super oily for the entire day after application. Frustrated, I picked up a bottle of CeraVe lotion to replace the Cetaphil, thinking I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It makes my skin feel super moisturized without leaving it greasy. It didn't break me out at all and used in conjunction with the CeraVe cleanser, my skin returned to a youthful and glowing state. My dry patches went away, as did the weird patches of non-acne bumps on my forehead. Like I said on my CeraVe cleanser review, I only wish that this lotion came in a more travel friendly bottle instead of a giant 12oz. bottle! For traveling, I plan on pumping a small quantity into a travel-sized bottle...so I guess it works out lol. Besides being dry and acne prone, my skin is also a bit sensitive. Not SUPER sensitive, but sensitive enough that certain products make my skin burn. The first few times I used this lotion, I did notice a very slight burning sensation. Not unpleasant, but enough that I noticed. When my father (who has extremely sensitive, red skin) tried this lotion, he complained that it burned. Not terribly, but enough that he mentioned it. I would suggest giving this lotion a try even if there is an initial *slight* burning sensation. It goes away after a few uses. Overall: try it!
