Pros:

The first product to control my acne. I use it three times a day on my whole face, not just on new breakouts and I found that it kills the new acne before it grows. Use it even when you think your face is clear. And it hydrates nicely. There is also no tingle. Some people here have commented that beccause they don't feel it, they put on more but this is not necessary. It's supposed to be light and painless.

Cons:

It got rid of my acne so there are no cons at all!!!!

Best product I've ever used. Great price. One tube lasted 3-4 months. I take it everywhere. So worth every penny.

Pros:

It will reduce the redness of any problem that you have. I was using it to treat both acne and facial flushing.

Cons:

It does not prevent pimples from forming, it only makes them less red. It did not have much overall effect.

It is ok if you only have occasional pimples that you just want to make less noticeable. However, I found it to be really more a medication that hides symptoms than it is a cure or treatment. I would only recommend it if you don't really have acne, just a few pimples occasionally. When I first started using it, I had only occasional pimples, not really acne at all, and it worked fine. Later, when I developed adult on set acne, it failed to make any difference, even for mild acne.

Pros:

Makes skin feel very smooth and moisturized. Smells great. Easy to apply.

Cons:

Doesn't do anything for acne. Expensive.

It could work for people with light acne, or someone just looking for a great moisturizer. For acne control? Not so much.

Pros:

By far the most effective topical treatment I have used (including benzoyl peroxide and other salicylic acid treatments). With my skin it doesn't react adversely, the bottle lasts a surprisingly long time, it has a pleasant consistency and scent.

Cons:

Perhaps it has caused a slight drying of the skin, but no other negative aspects for me.

I'll repeat: this is definitely the most effective treatment I have used over the past 7-ish years. More effective than other salicylic acid treatments. More effective than benzoyl peroxide. More effective than Proactiv. For my particular skin, this seems to work really well. I should note that I've also been making some dietary changes (I've practically eliminated direct eggs and dairy from my diet) and also been drinking about 2 liters of water a day. I think this treatment plus those changes are probably the reason my skin has improved so much, and perhaps neither would have been as effective alone. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend trying this and applying a thin coat twice a day after gentle cleansing and moisturizing. It's fairly inexpensive and the small bottle has really lasted several months.

Pros:

- doesn't clog pores
- not irritating
- can be used under make-up
- light scent
- minimizes redness and size of lesions
- helps with healing

Cons:

- doesn't work right away
- needs some time to absorb
- you have to apply it 3 times or you won't notice much of an effect

I was using aveeno clear complexion for almost 2 years and it worked beautifully but it was always a little heavy on my skin and because its so expensive i (stupidly) used a bottle that may have been a little old and therefore full of bacteria which made me break out. I stopped using the product all together and my skin just hasn't been the same. i used to get one or two pimples prior to my menstrual cycle but i was now breaking out throughout the month. I went into shoppers the other day and saw this, it seemed to have a lot of the benefits I needed in an acne treatment. The first night i used it and it didn't seem to have much of an effect but as I continue using it, i can see my skin going back to normal again which is so relieving after struggling with mild acne for close to 6 months now. I am also in the period of the month where i would normally break out hormonally and its helping to clear up hormonal related pimples which I thought only the pill/antibiotic could do. if you have hormonal/mild acne and some patience this product will not completely eliminate your acne but will help you regain confidence and lessen the need for makeup and other products that irritate your skin.

It last long and reduces some redness

Cons:

Takes a -long- time to show effects.

I used it for about two weeks and it really didnt do much for me. Maybe thats just me, but I stopped using it and well not much of a difference. Its an alright product for someone with patience and/or doesnt care how long your acne will clear up =]]

Pros:

Worth every penny, reduces redness, clears acne, keeps acne away, makes my skin sooo soft, gets rid of all uneccessary oils, and smells fantastic!

Cons:

None

I have tried so many products out there and I have gotten the same results with every single one. Improvement in my skin with later dissapointment... I use the 3 step system (Oil free Acne stress control Scrub and foaming cleanser) and you will most likely not get good results unless you use the other 2 products in this 3 step system by neutrogena. I use to have severe acne all over my face and I had given up until I began using this product and in less than 1 week my skin was flawless! My skin hasnt looked this good in years! Thank you so much Neutrogena! p.s not only is my acne gone... but since i use this stuff with the scrub and foaming cleanser my face is softer and brighter! I deffinitley reccommend this product.

Pros:

Matte finish, does not bleach clothing, smells great, feels very soothing non irritating. Will not break you out

Cons:

NO SPF, does not moisturize completely, thin consistency. sal acid does not completely control acne.

I AM CLEAR and I use this daily -in the morning mixed 50/50 with complex 15 and 5 drops tea tree oil. Keeps me shine free and well moisturized all day. This product more for mild to moderate adult acne. I use 2.5% BP at night followed by Aqua Glycolic lotion.

Skin got red and hot... and acne got worse!
I have been using Neutrogena products for a very long time with no problem - mainly their lotions and sunblocks, I guess in retrospect. I always thought they were good, like super high quality for something you could buy at the store. It made sense to me, when I started to breakout out of nowhere last year to try them. I bought this product, read the instructions and followed them. Within a week, my face was tight, red, burning to the touch and sprouting more zits than ever before. I was totally horrified. I called a friend of mine in the skin care business and she told me that Neutrogena products are crap, filled with tons of chemicals and just straight up no good. I still can't believe it! I looked it up and she was right there are so many articles about how bad it is!! Especially their sunblock. I can't believe I have trusted them with my skin for so long! She told me to try a couple other products that couldn't be found at the general store. Her clients had had good luck with two of them, Exposed and Ninja. I hadn't heard of either, called them both, explained the situation and ultimately went with Ninja. really great company , the trifecta of good - customer service, price and awesome product! My skin cleared up really quickly, now I am even off the medication and even better' I am not wearing makeup any more to cover up my spots!
